I believe he wanted to play for Lampard. Essien made a statement that he wanted to play for one of his 'idols' Paul Le Guen at Lyon when we were in talks with Bastia for him many moons ago. Some players want to play for top notch big name ex pros...
In terme of good value -- i was saying that...
1st: Those wage details were clearly leaked by West Ham after he turned them down. This was also discussed at the time.
2nd: What makes a player who has seen their value double and sits around the top for stats comparable with the best in the league? Is that a real question?
3rd: Can you name...
Quite harsh on Moyes this. Clearly a good manager who has his ceiling.
See him against us when we equalised...a narrow escape for him thanks to Keane and Iwobi.
Put Moyes in charge of a top side and he'll finish around 6th most seasons...
Build Lampard a top side and he'll be far superior.
Landed on his feet and found his level. The same as when he was with us...hard work and diligent management.
Clearly has a ceiling while Lampard I think has higher potential...
Buying Newcastle meant they are on the ground and the city will be behind them if they do well there.
They can leverage that into investing across the whole city. While West Ham is just a football team using a Govt funded stadium.
Im lazy to look again but theyve got some players getting on (just how moyes likes it).
Antonio, Ogbonna, cresswell, dawson and fabianski.
Also of course lingaard off...
Im just shrugging my shoulders really.
Looks to me that Moyes has done well but has a rebuilding job on his hands with so many older players.
Will be interesting to see if hes backed.
