You know what we are all like.We could be top of the league and 5 points clear on New Years Eve.Then we don't buy anyone in the January transfer window.............IMAGINE THE FUME IN HERE lol lol lolSix players in by early July and were still moaning about our ability to get a transfer done? Took United months to get Pogba, Arsenal weeks for Lacazette, the RS weeks for Salah and are still arsing around over Keita
Meanwhile we've had a demonstrable interest in Sigurdsson for about 3 days and he's sacked off Swansea's pre-season trip... give it some time
It wasn't you dawg. I know you are more reasonable than mostI wasn't having a go mate. Just calming your nerves, there is no need for a back up plan as yet, due to how things are progressing. Don't worry Steve Walsh will get it sorted
I dont think we need a back up plan in this case.
It seems as tho the player is interested in the move and it now seems as tho the selling club has indicated they wish to sell, granted very reluctantly, we are currently trying to get a price that avoids us lashing 50m on the table, 6 weeks of this window left, it if takes a bit longer and we can reduce the price by a few million theres no real issue IMO.
well thats a fun analysis. And what if he doesnt?spend whatever it takes to get this guy in

ExactlyIs the saving of a couple of mil here, given the apparent overall cost, worth him missing preseason? If we really are absolutely set on getting him (I do think the amount is over the top), just get it done and have him settle into the squad - give him a decent amount of time to gel along with the rest of the newbies...
we probably have but it just seems like we have been getting RK's #1 targetsAt this rate we will probably bring a striker in before Sigurdsson. Our biggest fault in these negotiations is not having a backup plan.
well thats a fun analysis. And what if he doesnt?
Very possible... I think Siggy was one of the top targets too tbh. He was always going to be difficult to acquire with Swansea as negotiatorswe probably have but it just seems like we have been getting RK's #1 targets
will have to win the europa league insteadwell thats a fun analysis. And what if he doesnt?
And it's not as if we'd make a profit unless we bought him, then qualified that season, then got to the knockouts. We may then earn about 40-60mill. (Plucked this figure out off my ass)well thats a fun analysis. And what if he doesnt?
Honestly, this is how football dies. Everyone is on the assumption that the 'status quo' is going to be there for awhile. All it takes is a drop in subscriptions, this is all over in a heartbeat. And a LOT of clubs are going to go under because of such.
Don't you know that we're mega rich now? We can blow 50 million on an absolutely mediocre player and it not matter a bit. Because everyone we sign is totally awesome and not at all overpriced
