Not sure if we need that type of player, though, tbh.

Weirdly enough, I think he'd suit what Spurs need more than Barkley, in a way.

realistically though, who else can we actually get who's done it consistently in the prem up there on par with stats of eriksen, de bryune, ozil, sanchez etc. There's nobody else in the league even close. All the other players who do that are already starters for teams above us, most of them cost over £40m themselves. He's a double figure in goals and assists kind of player, pretty close to it anyway.

I think the game is so stop start these days that a set piece specialist is actually a very very useful player to have. He is definitely more than that, he would link up brilliantly with the baines of old, sadly baines isn't that player anymore, so that could be an issue for us.

I'm just glad we're buying proven prem players first, let's make us consistent in qualifying for CL, then we can attract the real magic signings.

Same can be said about Calhangolu, Milan a similar level to EFC over past few years but still one of the worlds biggest clubs and a much more attractive option right now. Again not an option. Also a big IF to say he'd out perform Gylfi in the prem.

And Banega struggled to impress for a side who were probably in between Everton and Southampton's level last season, in a worse league. So to suggest he would perform to a higher level than Sigurdsson in the PL is a huge IF. He got under half the assists of Sig last season.

Still to see anyone name a player who would be better for us than Sig, who we could possibly sign, for less money?

He was at Lyon, unsure how long Bayern had him basically agreed, he was just an example. However i'm interested to where Lyon position in your index? i'd say between Southampton and Stoke.

I don't know who would join us but there are definitely better players out there. Sigurdsson hasn't been exactly easy to purchase and i don't hate him.
 
I've said this before but what some on here don't seem to realise as they don't watch much of Swansea is that Sigurdsson has basically been Swansea's whole gameplan for the last couple of seasons and, despite the opposition knowing this and marking him out, he's still been very effective in a pretty poor team. Having watched a lot of him I'm pretty sure that he'd be even more effective for us as opponents would have more than one player they'd have to worry about.
