You're saying this;

Klaassen -- Schneiderlin -- Gana
Sigurdsson
Rooney -- Sandro
Is that right? Before i answer your question, who would you have as rotation with them? Should be 2 players in each position ideally...

Ideally but we don't. We can use Besic, Davies, McCarthy, Barry etc. rotating the base. Attacking mid we've got the kids like Dowell and up front DCL, Mirallas and hopefully another forward.

Somebody made a good point yesterday (can't remember who). In all of the European leagues, there has got to be somebody better than Sigurdsson for that amount of money. I like him as a player and would like to see him at Everton, but for £40m -£50m there's much much better players out there.

Ross had 5 goals and 8 assists. Hardly a vast difference when you consider we as a team scored over a third more goals than Swansea did.

I also don't get the whole "take out the dead balls" thing... Sounds far too Martinezy to me. It's like people who used to say about Lukaku "take away his goals, and what does he offer?"

Ross plays at number ten for a team that has the ball a lot more, and with a £100 million striker in front of him. Gets half the assists.

They had ronaldo, giggs, henry, aguero, hazard, et al around them though...

I think we have pace in the squad - mirallas, lewin, lookman, bolaise, lennon, coleman, barkley - then players like gana/davies/mccarthy/schneiderlin who are sharp...

We will have so many options next year - don't see perceived lack of pace being a problem.
Of your pacey players, how many start against Stoke?

I agree with a lot of what you are saying, but I don't think Sigurdsson is the player to be overpaying for. Barkley is the better player of the two, if we're overpaying I'd rather we were a little more ambitious.

I think Barkley has more potential but right now Sigurdsson delivers more often and appears to be a player Koeman wants to bring in. I think sometimes as fans we often want a statement signing with someone who is from one of the big clubs when there are actually very good players that can be bought from elsewhere.

When City started their spending they brought in players like Kompany and Zabaleta who ended up being pivotal for them and as far as I am aware, they were not thought of as Europe's best at the time City got them. Even players like David Silva were highly rated but he wasn't in the top top bracket either like an Iniesta.

I trust Koeman and Walsh to have a good idea on who will make us a better team.

Had this been 12 months ago he would have gone for 25 mil tops.. Everyone is richer now in the Prem and clubs know are new owner is splashing the cash, he is not worth £40 odd mil but if the main
man wants to pay well let's let him... Think its been a great window up to now a top striker and just watch us go I think we will surprise a few teams this season ..

We've seen this. At Spurs. He was average at best.

This is why I don't understand people saying he's Premier League proven like its a good thing. He's proven to be a good player at Swansea's level but not good enough to be at Tottenham's level. We are aspiring to get to Tottenham's level, so the deal just doesn't make sense.

We played with a striker who didn't bring others into the game - the opposite of a Llorente - and Barkley created many, many more chances than the eventual assists bared out.

It's fair game to take out set pieces. If two strikers score 20 goals but one of them grabbed 8 from penalties, then to make a fair open play comparison you exclude those goals.

Sigurdsson is a set piece specialist - that's worth keeping in mind when talking about his value - but when you talk about who the better actual footballer is in open play, you have to exclude them.

Well Ross gets hung for it lad, so why should we let siggy off ???

I think Ross gets hung for far more than that mate personally.

Such as holding onto the ball for way to long, giving the ball away etc...he only started to take a lot of that out of his game in the second half of last season when he was decent, so I would like to see him show that for a much longer period before I commit to actually saying it looks like the penny has dropped.

I am not anti-Ross by any stretch and would actually like him to stay and fight for his place.
