£40m Bid Made For Sigurdsson

Swansea are barking mad if they reject £45m but we are just as mad for bidding it, for once I agree with @davek, £30m max is what he's worth but such is life these days. We shouldn't go any higher than that now, move on to a different target on our list, like that Veiria lad we were linked with last week

Wouldn't be at all surprised if they reject the improved bid but still expect it to go through.

The figures quoted are only hearsay and both clubs can put their own spin on it if it happens.

I wouldn't go back with another bid and don't think Everton will either.

The offer is more than fair if true - up to 95% of what they were seeking at a price most people consider to be heavily inflated as it is. He was supposed to be worth £30m 3 weeks ago.

Take it or leave it Swansea.

A lot off money yes and maybe we could find better abroad but with gilfi you know what you get goals and assists proven prem player and easily most creative player we would have in squad as it stands

I really cant understand evertonians who whine and moan about this ffs lol

Enjoy! It was clear thing that we must splash it this window if we want to go forward and catch other clubs. We are building something here. Next summer will probs be quieter so Lets just enjoy the ride

Next summer will be even better

We are selling the family silver and getting ripped off on prices.

Last time we go ripped off on a deal was arguably Rooney and it was necessity. Arguably we have ripped off most teams since then.

Lukaku and Stones didn't want to stay. Barkley, it appears, doesn't want to stay either. The duty of the club then becomes to do the best business possible.

I'm not happy when our best players leave but at least we aren't getting bent over on the price.

Let me remind you what this club has just bid for a player with zero resale value...

£45M............£45M
This would be a problem if we weren't minted. Are Chelsea, City or United overly concerned about resale value?
The points tally total of our season with or without the player dictates whether the player is worth it.

I realise that wasn't the point you were making, but it was the point I'm making.

To hopefully make it easier to take. Yes this fee is going to be mad. But it's who they want so just enjoy us going out and getting the players we want without fannying about it like we have for actual decades.

We don't have an endless pot of money so it important it gets used correctly. I agree that we know he will do a job but he is only a very good player not a top class one. I can't see that he is going to make a big difference. He is not the dynamic player that we need
