Go and change your pants Sir. You appear to have pissed them.Everybody is saying that they want 50 mil for the player...maybe this is incorrect. Maybe they value the player much higher than that and they know we got 75 mil for lukaku...I don't see anywhere an official claim from Swansea saying that they value sigurdson at 50 mil. I can see them wanting closer to 60-65 mil for the player which would be crazy!
Which is why Morata was United's first choiceI don't/won't deny for a moment that Lukaku was/is a very, good goalscorer, but Davek implied he and Ross were/are the best two footballers at the club. For me, as an all-round footballer Lukaku was lacking.
I do not doubt either that if Untied play to suit Lukaku, he'll bag goals a-plenty for them too... but I re-iterate, as a footballer, he was/is far from the complete article.
Siggy is 28 now.
Ozil was younger when bought etc
No. He used to be a better all round player. Now, he's slow, sloppy and falling over all the time. He's a better receiver of the ball, and thats about it. Subtrackt Rooneys goals from our preseason matches, and he's been an utter mess.He is a better all round player.
Lukaku is a fantastic goal scorer, that is not in doubt and any team would miss his goals.
But as an all round player he's not the best. But he didn't have to be.
We paid 30 odd for players in the bottom end if the prem table.Everybody is saying that they want 50 mil for the player...maybe this is incorrect. Maybe they value the player much higher than that and they know we got 75 mil for lukaku...I don't see anywhere an official claim from Swansea saying that they value sigurdson at 50 mil. I can see them wanting closer to 60-65 mil for the player which would be crazy!
We were discussing price differences between age mate, calm downOMG he's sooooo old. 28? the lad is in his prime, get him in TODAY.
Could you start using bullet points?No-one guaranteed anything but even today people are amazed we have spent so much....but we haven't spent anything when looking at sales.
1 -- Sell to buy is actually fine as long as the correct areas are strengthened. For example, if we sold Lukaku but signed Rooney and Sandro to replace him and added to that with Pickford, Keane and a top centre back then weve massively improved defence but taken a gamble in attack, That's fine with me....but if we sign a midfielder instead of a centre back then were still gambling in attack and weak in defence....pointless
2 -- I don't think anyone would be happy with baines, Williams and jags starting with Cuco the clown at right back (which will happen if keane gets injured) as we will lose every game
3 -- No. He made that statement. He couldn't back it up. He failed.
4 -- We're not discussing anything other than the transfer window, In particular the Sigurdsson deal.
5 -- Its common sense if were overpaying....
6 -- We have scouts across the globe. he have scouts for all levels at the club. We have head and chief scouts. We also have Steve Walsh. if these guys cant find better players than Giroud and Sigurdsson for 80mil+ then that tells me the whole of football is a mess or our scouting network is.
Not sure about how Williams played last season, but he's always been very solid for Swansea and he would probably start for every team in the league besides Spurs and maybe United. Unless he is a shadow of himself, then I don't see the need to replace him when you have Jagielka/Holgate and even Funes Mori when he finally gets back as back ups. They would be starters for Liverpool, Arsenal and maybe even City.
None of those other 10 attacking players are on Sigurdsson's level. And clearly not many of the other Playmakers in the league are, considering he is tied 1st with the most goals and assists of any midfielder since 2014/15.
Keep in mind, I say tied with 1st because he has an assist against Arsenal that isn't officially registered for some odd reason.
It wasn't too long ago that Giroud was starting every game for Arsenal, so having him for £20-30 million is nothing to be ashamed of. Rather him than Rooney upfront.
And as far as Sigurdsson goes, you're not overpaying for arguably the best Playmaker in the Premier League when his stats are better than players worth £60-80+ million.
You rarely see any of the other Playmakers in the league scoring goals or assisting like him with their strong foot compared to his ''weak'' foot. I don't know if Ozil has ever scored goals like that, or if he can cross the ball on his left like that.
Didn't Ozil get bought for £42.5 million or something? Wouldn't he be sold for £60-80 million even though he's the same age as Sigurdsson and has worse stats? I bet none of you would complain over paying £50 million for him.
That one is reeled out every summer and has been for the last 15 years. The bubble continues to grow exponentially year on year. Buckle up and enjoy the ride.Or the market might have collapsed and we might be stuck paying people £150k to sit on the bench.
The attitude of just paying fees because that seems to be the way the market is going (note that not everybody is throwing money round like it's going out of fashion) is a very dangerous one. Not that long ago a lot of people ended up handing back the keys to their mortgaged houses because they found house prices started to go down rather than carrying on going up like they assumed. The same thing WILL happen in football at some point, things can't just keep going the way they have been recently forever.
No they don'tWait, nobody thinks that do they?!
No doubt. Based on the Genk game, Im sure Sandro is going to become great at our club. Money well spent. Still need Siggy and a striker. No they don't
But Rooney Sandro Pickford Klassen and Keane for Lukaku money is an upgrade
1. Ok. It's the manager and the dof's decision. Then again, it's not 31 August yet and most people will back the manager.
2. You ask me not to call RM a clown yet you call Cuco a clown with him not kicking a ball (official match) for the club.
3. I don't care.
4. Ok you just said you are not discussing anything other than the transfer window.
5. The manager and the dof want him. The board back the signing. No point of moaning.
6. Every club has head and chief scouts. We used to have scouts around the globe and we signed Niasse and Rodgriuez. This isn't as straightforward as you think.
You're an absolute melon. If you have a flood in your ground floor do you then build a new roof while it floods?
