I dont believe we have signed a single mediocre player this window, every singing we have made so far has improved the squad VASTLY, you shouldnt allow yourself to be bogged down with how much the players cost tho.

Iceland will also improve the squad, we will lose Barkley and Lukaku this window, but the 9 players their sale will bring will improve us more going forward.

Barkley and Lukaku could still be here now if Moshiri had shown ambition and organised some investment to plough into this club and buy players last season. All he did was lurch from one calamity to another; Lukaku made his mind up and then Barkley has been hounded out by this manager.

We had no need whatsoever to sell these players...other than the fact it's funded a transfer window which this owner is getting undue credit for because all he's done is do what Kenwright did.

£98M spent; £108M taken in.

What a palaver over recycling players.

But if we buy Sigurdsson for anything between 40 - 50m that takes our spend to 150m pounds. That's quite a sum over the 108m taken in Dave so that negates your arguement surely?? Its not just player recycling. Yes there is an element of that, just like at every football club going but there is also funds available to strengthen the squad as the manager sees fit over and above. If that means obscene amounts of money at players, then that's what it is. Enjoy spending some cash for once...

To Daveks defense, 40 million is insane. However, the market is insane, as Stones, Walker and Matic proves.

To challenge you a bit Davek : Who are we supposed to sign? I believe we are buying a good mix of young and experienced, and I believe and hope it will bring is forward. We can't sign the current Lukakus. We can't attract James Rodriguez. We can however attract the best players from the clubs below us, such as Sigurdsson, Bolasie, Keane and Pickford. Some young to build for the future. Some experienced so we can compete from day 1.

A complete team will always be superior to individuals (Leicester the latest example).
Relax, and put some faith in the ppl in charge.

Mind you you cant blame him: he's seen us had off by Sunderland and Ajax and Palace and thought: "let's turn these daft gets over".
