'Wealth creators'???
Have you given any thought to this cliché mate?
if you don't think there's something wrong with a 50% income tax rate, no matter how "few" people it affects, then I guess I could come to the same blinkered conclusion as you.

Why stop at 50%? If more tax is better, then why not tax them 60%, 70%? where you do draw the line? Ideologically insane to tax the wealth creators, yet this is how the Left think.

The top rate of tax has nothing to do with wealth creators who don't pay tax as income tax.

The people it effects is the middle classes who earn between 40k and 80k and right now they are struggling too with mortgages, tuition fees, kids etc

Asking them to pay even more isn't fair. They worked hard to get to that point in their lives and frankly many already think whats the point when they can't even afford to have kids.

I don't think you or anyone is qualified to say that the middle-classes income earners don't create wealth. Everyone who holds down a job and pays any tax any income tax creates wealth at some level - they add value to their employer.... otherwise they wouldn't be employed. If you tax a packet of fags,or booze, you are doing it as a disincentive. That's just simple economics. Same with tax on work - tax work, and people are disincentivised to work.

Didn't realise they'd spent so much on a useless lump of stone, sums him up really........I'd rather he just gave the money to one or two needy families.......
or the Tories could have opened another food bank! I agree it was a massive blunder, not an election loser though that came from Scotland fear factor, and the UKIP vote hurting Labour more than the Tories its over we have to see how it pans out - its not a big majority, DC I feel will have a harder run with his own back bencher's now with the EU debate looming!!
The Liberals are destroyed imo - Farage will have 6 months off and be persuaded to be leader again! as BK would say watch this space!

i think over the last few years a lot of graduates have come from all over the uk and we are starting to see a drift to stay here, cheap housing ect its a question of if we can grow to keep them here long term, still a lot want to try the bright lights of london , but i know a few who are coming back or planning to as the rewards in wages ect are wiped out by not getting on the housing ladder ect. its a compicated question really
That's how the market economy works. As expensive areas become too expensive people and companies are forced to move improving the areas they move to. More tax and money goes into the that local economy helping the locals as well. Local politicians should be encouraging that not the opposite. Liverpool is a fantastic city with loads of potential and a bit like their football teams just needs the right long term plan.

Farage is done. Douglas Carslwell will take over and shift them away from immigration and Europe to an alternative Tories that focuses the gains of right wing libertarian ideology on helping the working class.

I think Labour are now out for at least 10 years. The boundary commission proposals will be implemented, Scottish Labour needs to be completely rebuilt, England will get it's own parliament and Labour will still be fighting off the unions tying to impose another Ed..........

Farage will be back as their leader whenever they have an election.......he's like Boris, like him or loathe him he is very visible with a degree of charisma...........

How do you struggle with tuition fees? And if you can't pay your mortgage when the Bank of England base interest rate is 0.5% then you definitely shouldn't have taken that mortgage.

As far as kids go, there are families out there bringing up two or three kids on sub-£20k.
