Cant be bothered finding the chart, might do later, but there are all sorts of sliding scales of income levels that lose the nil rate band and stuff that pushes their marginal rate of tax, in other words the actual amount they pay as opposed to the "rate", over 60%.

Tbh I think a lot of rich people are very good at avoiding paying tax. A lot better than poor people are when it comes to benefit fraud.

I'm sure if all the people who should pay tax did we could begin to eliminate poverty in the 5th wealthiest country in the world.

Is that the Government who paid down Government debt from 1997 to 2008, whose spending plans were agreed by the Conservatives? Or are we talking about the last Government who increased debt by £600 bn?
