2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

If we can get three more wins from the next 6 games up to April and that awful looking set of fixtures, I think we’re ok, especially if the bottom sides keep not picking up the points, but we should strive for more than just ok.

3 points for a win can totally change the picture very quickly, so we can’t lose focus or get complacent, especially as there are definitely winnable matches for us there.

Be boss if we continue the unbeaten/winning run across Feb and March fixtures like, and even longer. Sorry, can’t help getting greedy!

Mad feeling optimism instead of dread.

Not meaning to patronise anyone but don't understand how anyone can still be worried now. We don't even have to look at ourselves, you just have to look at how Ipswich and Leicester (Southampton are down) have done recently and all season to see they're not going to be able to get above us.

Leicester 4 wins and 15 defeats in 24 matches
Ipswich 3 wins and 14 defeats in 24 matches

How are either of them going to then pull off like 8 wins in 14 or only have say 5 or 6 defeats in 14? Just won't happen.

I think most understand that we’re probably out of it, but years of Everton related trauma stops you from fully voicing it. Even if every metric, precedent and trend tells you one thing, that tiny little ‘Everton, that’ chance is still enough to err caution.

I think as each game passes Leicester and Ipswich by, it becomes less and less likely that they will get out of the relegation zone. But while it’s mathematically possible, I think we just have to focus on us winning and keep a healthy gap between us and them
