6 + 2 Point Deductions

Read that crap again with a coffee. It’s just bizarre. No intention to breach. No sporting advantage. Some mitigations that were actually a bit limp they accept just because it’s hard to decide either way. Cast iron perfectly sensible mitigations ignored completely. Totally normal to have to adjust to a foreign war. Sensible punishments decided to be inappropriate due to the wealth of the owner - the owner is NOT being investigated, the CLUB/company is. That one is ludicrous and should be demolished on appeal.

Everyone accepts some level of breach, and there has been some support for us online etc. Would love someone independent to be given the airtime to pick apart the document. It’s so so bad. Won’t happen. The fury from the fans will get some airtime next weekend but then ignored, and the ex-players have had their say and will now be quiet. Would be interesting for all clubs to see a forensic mauling of some of the crap written and the decisions that then go counter to the paragraph that precedes them.

Booooo.

I was away yesterday so only just catching up on here. Tuned into the BBC’s flagship Today programme to learn more. They started with the England game, then the Las Vegas GP and finished with a new women’s rugby premiership. We’ve slipped ‘below the fold’ on their website too. That’s making me even angrier. We need to make enough noise to make sure the ridiculous nature of this deduction doesn’t go away. I don’t hear anyone in the mainstream media questioning this decision.

Carragher and Simon Jordan have both called it out as excessive.

I first heard about it on Melbourne TV news this morning. It came as a shock, although it shouldn't have and my stomach sank.

Yeah I’ve heard three media personalities put their name to a verdict and so far Carragher (kopite), Kaveh (knob head) and Simon Jordan (part of talksports contrarian media hype machine) have all said the punishment is excessive!

The only thing against our favour I’ve heard is that it’s unfair it wasn’t done sooner which would’ve seen us relegated but it’s also been acknowledged nothing can be done about that now and it is what it is.

In my opinion, the crazy thing here is if they’d have given us 3-6 points the media would’ve probably applauded it and said it’s good to punish lawbreakers and us as fans would’ve probably said ‘yeah our idiot board deserve it, fair enough’ but because they’ve been so extreme they’ve made themselves the bad guys and everyone feels we’ve been mistreated

Mate thank god we actually started picking up form to only be on 4 points right now. Could you imagine if we were in the minuses at this time, davek would be hanging from the rafters.
If we were on minus points he’d probably be in here telling everyone with two fitstrikers we’ll be absolutely fine and anyone thinking we’re already down is a drama queen

Genuinely woke up this morning and had that “did it really happen” few seconds before getting the sinking feeling in my gut that we have once again been clearly shafted by the authorities. We will stay up, no doubt in my mind. We will claw back some points on appeal. More importantly i think this is a potential turning point/opportunity for us as a club going forward. Let’s embrace what we’ve always suspected we are, outsiders, outliers, an annoyance to the new order of football. Let’s be the bad boys, the rebels, they’ve made an assassination attempt on our existence, no mending fences after this, NEVER. The club should run with it as well, it’s truly an opportunity to market ourselves as the alternative to the putrid cesspit of corruption that top class football has become. We can be the rebels. Our neighbours and even Man U have, whether they’d admit it or not, certainly benefited from the bad things/tragedies in their history, I’ve met international reds that think ynwa, the song was literally written about hillsborough. As ghoulish as it sounds, these things are an industry in themselves. Let’s harness the injustice and run with it from here on. Better that than to sheepishly try and limp back in to the family that tried to bury us

If you go down and win the league it will probably be the most enjoyable season you've had for years?
Absolutely not.

You know we have more top flight seasons that any other club by a country mile yeah?

Why on Earth would we enjoy a lower tier? This is absolute nonsense spouted by small clubs and I know that sounds entitled but it’s the truth.

Sky's interpretation of it was an absolute joke, the lead presenter opinion, can't think of the slimy toads name, was just awful, he as always just seemed awfully pleased with himself.
