Genuinely woke up this morning and had that “did it really happen” few seconds before getting the sinking feeling in my gut that we have once again been clearly shafted by the authorities. We will stay up, no doubt in my mind. We will claw back some points on appeal. More importantly i think this is a potential turning point/opportunity for us as a club going forward. Let’s embrace what we’ve always suspected we are, outsiders, outliers, an annoyance to the new order of football. Let’s be the bad boys, the rebels, they’ve made an assassination attempt on our existence, no mending fences after this, NEVER. The club should run with it as well, it’s truly an opportunity to market ourselves as the alternative to the putrid cesspit of corruption that top class football has become. We can be the rebels. Our neighbours and even Man U have, whether they’d admit it or not, certainly benefited from the bad things/tragedies in their history, I’ve met international reds that think ynwa, the song was literally written about hillsborough. As ghoulish as it sounds, these things are an industry in themselves. Let’s harness the injustice and run with it from here on. Better that than to sheepishly try and limp back in to the family that tried to bury us
