6 + 2 Point Deductions

I don’t care what Man City have done, if there’s a battle between City and the Premier League then I’m on Team City.

The PL are a much bigger threat to our existence than City. I want to see them neutered.
No they’re not. Everton will become more of a bit part player to state owned and mega rich clubs and be forced out.

If city have their way it gives a tonne of others clubs carte blanche to do the same.

We need a well run premier league.

I am delighted this is happening.
It lays bare the corruption in football.
Everton and to a lesser degree Forest are severely punished for what are minor offences compared to what City are accused of.
The PL have clearly been unable or are afraid to take on City and this forces their hand.

If the rules governing football are thrown out then do we retrospectively get our points back with the extra money that would bring for a higher placement.
Are we to be compensated for all the negative publicity around the club all season?

Are the rules now to be cherry picked where some still stand but others don't ?
No if the rules are changed because of City going to a real court then we take the PL to the cleaners for what they did to us last season.

The PL exists to make money. It was a collective bargaining tool to increase television revenue.

The question is whether the remainder of the Sky6 support the PL as a whole or use this as their chance to break off into a super league.

If the likes of ManU, RS, Arsenal, and Tottenham side with the PL, this goes nowhere. If not, the PL will surrender to save their revenue.

Man City can’t split off on their own. They need a handful of the other big clubs to make any split viable. If they can’t split, they’ll leverage the civil case to settle the PL charges.

Agree. But what they are fighting for has nothing to do with our rediculous made up PSR punishments. They simply want related companies in their group to be able to sponsor each turnstile for £4trillion pounds and make that a legitimate increase in their revenue, which spending limits will be based on. Only a couple of clubs will benefit from that change, and whilst most billionaire club owners have other businesses that might say sponsor your training ground for £15m for no good reason at all (ahem), they won’t be able to stick in £500m a year without blinking, and have no intention to ever recoup it.

If they win though, a regulator will have no choice but to base future spending rules on something other than revenue/profit unless they want it to be literally impossible for any non-sovereign state owned team to get within 20 points of the title, forever. Would seem obvious, but where there are palms to be greased….
Shouldn’t be based on restricting spending imho anyway.
Should be maximum squad and development squad numbers to prevent the best talent being hoovered up by one or two clubs.
Should be a fund set up where owners have to set aside enough dough to see ‘their’ club survive long enough to reduce all debts to manageable levels the event of unforeseen circumstances affecting ability to meet debts.
