6 + 2 Point Deductions

The only way things can be meaningfully resolved is through a full reset, but of course that won't happen.

They might as well now formally confirm to all clubs outside the top six that there is a permanent glass ceiling.

The sad thing is is that there will never be any momentum for genuine change. Fans of the top clubs are happy as they are, and most of the others have bounced back and forth between The Championship and lower. Your club goes down, it's a bad day, they come up, it's great. Have a couple of seasons like Brighton and it's better still. For how long though when every talent you have has to be sold.

I think it's different for us between our notions of grandeur on the one side, and no modern experience of relegation on the other. I think as the shock settles on the points deduction, we just left with a bleak outlook either way. The club is at a real crossroads, and it seems to be fading further with each passing week.
Great post. A club like United can be a billion in debt, a club like Chelsea can spend a billion in two transfer windows. Arsenal and Spurs have built brand new stadiums. Liverpool have expanded their stadium twice, United have a 75k seater stadium. Chelsea have already breached ffp and been handed a transfer ban. All of the above clubs wanted to leave and start their own league, all stayed, and got a 3m fine each.

Brighton you are correct to use. Only a 32k stadium which never looks full. They will soon have teams ripping them off for players because now clubs understand their model. Buy low price, do well, and sell for high. Bissouma left, Caiedo left, Burn left, next will be Mitoma, Ferguson and Estupian. They are a feeder club and will have to be that in order to stay where they are.

“After further investigation of historical Everton FC records, we have discovered our clients additional culpabilities include, but are not limited to:
  • The Great Train Robbery
  • Those lads that dug into the jewel vault in Hatton Garden
  • Raoul Moat and the associated goings on

After they released the above statement saying they have lodged the appeal, I would doubt they will make any further comment until the appeal is heard. So I doubt we will find out the grounds of the appeal for some time.
Just wait until the PL start leaking to their client journalists at the Daily Telegraph the basis of our appeal and why it will fail.
It will be accompanied by loads of stories about the multi-million compensation claims that have been lodged as well.

The club had better have used this time to put together a top legal team and a quality argument.
muppets.webp

On their way to argue the case now

They are there to ensure clubs live within their means, and if they do not live within their means P&S sanctions seem to accelerate the eventual administration.
Oh the irony , but yes You're right.
Clearly the rules as currently framed don't work .
So you either have a free for all or really do try to level up by bringing in a salary cap

Ive said a few times on here that clubs like Brighton will only ever reach to the point they're at now because of the points you made (best players getting poached) which then means they have to start again in a weaker position season after season.

There are many clubs happy just being in the PL Brighton Palace Wolves Burnley Bournemouth etc... then you have clubs like us and Villa and to some extent Forest who have experienced past glory years who genuinely are trying to get back to the top but cant because no matter how much of a wealthy owner you have there is a lid on what you can spend.

For all what Villa have done/doing this season they will probably be weaker next season as they will have the vultures after their top players.

Gonna be some retired barrister that absolutely stinks of whiskey and BO that's been sat in a dusty room at home just waiting for his big break again since being struck off. Probably taken the full time to appeal cos it's been written up with a quill.
What was he struck off for Bungs? 😜
