6 + 2 Point Deductions

I don't think so, I think it sets a precedent that if you transgress p&s you get a points penalty. I can't imagine anybody else trying to sneak an extra £6.5 million spend a year in exchange for a 5 point penalty.
IMO the PL poodle appeal panel will try and let sleeping dogs lie.

Handing no points back to Everton will be far less controversial than handing some back and burdening other relegation threatened clubs even more. They would appeal and they would threaten legal actions themselves.

It'd be an almighty mess.

The PL will probably be hoping that Everton go on another 4 game winning run to take the heat off them.

How could they threaten legal action? The punishment is unprecedented and was made up on the spot.

That wont happen, and i am not even sure what would even give them the right of that, as we won the points fairly on the pitch. And it helps themselves (Prem league etc) in that case if they hurry up and stop dragging it out

Do you think other PL clubs affected by any returned points wont kick up a storm of protest and appeals given the cost of relegation?

Of course they will....and then the whole FFP system comes further under scrutiny. The PL dont want that. Far better for them to refuse any appeal from Everton.

That's the path of least resistance and I fully expect them to take it.

I think that's correct. I know a lot of people think the Premier League want us relegated. I think they either hoped we were comfortably relegated, or that we stay up. Given where we are now they'll be hoping we stay up so it means they can be seen to be tough but it doesn't make a huge impact on the league.

They'd lose PL table places...

But the argument would be that they lose them because of having less points on the pitch than us.

The offence has nothing to do with them, in a technical sense. They are just impacted positively if we get a deduction, and then that positive is reverted to a neutral if we get them back.

Well for me - no they should'nt kick up a fuss, even if they did, and they should be thinking of Everton getting points back - whatever amount it maybe be. They should be thinking of the league as though we have points back already - IE as we are not in their sight - thats how i would be thinking if i was them - IE if Luton i would think we are 2points from getting out the bottom 3 from forest at this minute
