6 + 2 Point Deductions

IMO the PL poodle appeal panel will try and let sleeping dogs lie.

Handing no points back to Everton will be far less controversial than handing some back and burdening other relegation threatened clubs even more. They would appeal and they would threaten legal actions themselves.

It'd be an almighty mess.

The PL will probably be hoping that Everton go on another 4 game winning run to take the heat off them.
The other clubs know that points deductions are possible and there is a right to appeal. There's no basis for legal action. What's their argument anyway, we would've tried harder to win?

They're litigious. In any case there will bound to be counter appeals about Everton getting points back and placing them further down the table.

The PL will want to avoid that mess.

Agreed. If we get points back it’s due to the correct conclusion that a penalty was applied with no genuine or agreed calculation or mechanism. How could anyone then argue the penalty should be more than whatever we are left with? Are Luton going to propose their own penalty mechanism of an initial 15 points plus an extra point for each million over the limit?

If we get anything back that’s the end of it. I see the asterisk next to our league position as meaning “subject to change pending appeal.”

The effect will be on this season though...even more reason for the likes of Luton to feel aggrieved.
3 of these relegation threatened teams weren't even in this league when the breaches took place.

And the reason as of now they are threatened with relegation is because they are not good enough regardless of Evertons points total.

Exactly. The bottom three would still be the bottom three, only one point farther away from safety than they are now as the table reads.

Hate to say it but can see that happening now, even tho i think we should be given points back. Really needs to be set a date this but again they dont care about us fans

I do get it as if this drags on near the end of the season could change several teams poistions. Whole thing is a mess the league have not thought aboyt the whole process

Sorry how could they possibly have a case to feel aggrieved about us getting points back that we’ve fairly won on the pitch? You’re acting as if we’d be getting generously donated an extra set of points, we wouldn’t, we’ve already got those points and they’ve been unfairly taken away from us. How the hell could anyone complain if we legitimately win the appeal and points get restored?

We are the only ones who have any right to feel aggrieved and go through an appeal process.
