6 + 2 Point Deductions

I don't support any rules which restrict spending or investment to be honest.

But if you are going to have rules, and we do have rules, then it is farcical that a team can spend like Chelsea. The rules clearly are not fit for purpose.

They buzzed on the PL through loopholes. It's why I do think they probably went after them for historical accounts with a cob on because of it.

But it's goes back to my original point in how it disrupts the market for everyone. They bought 2 £100mill DMs. Knock on effect was then Declan Rice going for the same price. The RS then got priced out for anyone in that position. So it's not just the teams below.

The Premier League never went after them though.

The new owners came to them and reported on dealings that Roman done.

This is the big part of it. They can keep spending and pushing prices up, but if smaller clubs then do likewise to try and remain competitive, they would get punished.

Either have no rules on spending and investment, or have a complete level playing field. Anything else is not going to give us good sport.

It’s interesting looking at the market, very quiet, with reports of us, Newcastle, Villa, Forest, Wolves all walking a FFP tight rope.

If no one’s spending money, no one’s making it.

I know im in a minority, but I think FFP rules have saved us.

Our funding was pulled and we have struggled.

But imagine if we had spent what we wanted for the last 5 years and had a wage bill like Citys, then the funding was pulled.

Like with everything the PL implements though, it's always half baked and underdeveloped (see VAR).

What's in place keeps clubs on their toes. The punishments however they've completely made a pigs ear out of IMO.

But it still favours the sides with the bigger turnovers who to me dictate how the league runs

Maybe it's a good thing...Will drive the process down a bit. Fees nowadays are ridiculous for premier league clubs. It isn't sustainable and clubs in other leagues as well as championship teams have become a little to reliant on disproportionate fees.

Well it's creeping up on clubs post COVID now. It's like I said before, every club bar a couple will have a season they have to tighten the belt down the line. Which is a good thing.

But then City, Chelsea, United, Arsenal will still go spend £100mill+ in the windows each season

It will.

But not for your City, Arsenal etc who don't and will never have to worry about it and will still dictate the marketplace.

Which I think is why is disproportionate.

goat would be down there with a filofax telling them they got what they deserved
The EFL recently fined Yongge for failure to provide a minimum amount of funds for the running of the club, which has faced multiple winding-up orders over failure to pay HMRC bills on time, while also failing to pay staff and players wages.

DISGUSTING LACK OF FISCAL PRUDENCE

There will always be haves and have nots. % of revenues is probably the fairest of the options. It forces owners to live within their means.

They will also have to watch closely what they're spending...arsenal would live to go to the market and spend 50 or 60 millions on a striker now in January but they just can't.
