Salary caps has to be the way forward.

We have prima Donna’s playing for numerous prem teams who are multi millionaires due to the at that the are, they are neither talented or [Poor language removed] just lucky!

Cap salaries, have a similar recruitment as American football and it MAY give our game a chance to survive.

I have been a ST holder for more years that I care to mention but will be stopping after a season in the new stadium because the enjoyment just ain’t there anymore, money has ruined it for me and unless there’s massive change I just can’t be arsed!!!

The effectively are. Player fees and wages are by far the largest expense for clubs. If you limit the amount they are allowed to lose, you are then limiting player salaries.

Basketball and hockey are closed systems in by far the largest economy in the world. It’s not an apples to apples comparison, more like apples to gold bars.
Like I said, they're overpaid to begin with. And if the PL were to go that way, rest assured other leagues would follow suit as their smaller clubs would latch onto that as a way to stay competive.

American Football doesnt have transfer fees does it?

Or relegation.

I dont think we can learn anything from American sports personally.

If the cap was introduced across Europe it wouldnt be a bad idea, but England would lose its "appeal" a little and The EPL would not like that.

As much as the fans want a level playing field, the clubs dont and The Premier League defo do not.
Then this whole discussion is academic and everyone crying about the inequalities should just STFU.

I mean I know nothing about NFL, but is this the example people think we should follow?

No idea what any of those numbers mean, but they seem quite high.

It also doesn't have the same two or three teams dominating every bloody season, either. Dynasties like the Patriots are built through shrewd drafting and free-agent signings, working within a cap, coupled with excellent coaching. Teams can't just spend their way to the Super Bowl every season.

How do they cope with relegation?
