6 + 2 Point Deductions

Aggravating factor of miss-representing the loan interest etc etc. Being in administration is open and shut case I guess. Pathetic thing is administration has a bigger impact on lives and livelihoods that a dispute over accounting treatment.

But if we heap ourselves in debt and take on and make interest payments thats fine - im glad these rules were brought it in protect clubs from over reaching.

Wednesday got 12 points and appealed to 6 for example in the EFL. The appeals board ruled they disagreed with some of the independent commission findings.

Same thing here. The league will appoint an appeals board and they'll review it.

The other rat clubs who want to sue for compensation have 28 days to do so also
Fair enough, but I don't see how the point in bold works in our favor, as it's clear the league wants nothing more than to hammer us particularly. How independent will the appeals board be?

Along with everyone else, I think the punishment is insane and wildly inappropriate. But it does at least seem to be based on a structured standard that is allegedly supposed to apply to everyone going forward. We were obviously chosen as the example club to begin using those new standards, unfortunately for us.

That's all I'm saying - in order for us to get out of this, it seems like we have to get the appeals board to essentially throw out those new standards, because we did in fact already admit to the breach. So we can't just come back now and say, whoops, never mind, we didn't actually do anything wrong.

Trying to stay level-headed here and think about this through something less than the fury we're all feeling right now.

One of the things lost in all this is how we were told “Everton will defend ourselves vehemently against the accusations, we’ve done no wrong.” Yet we admit we went over the losses allowed

The gist of what the Commission said is that we didn't purposefully try to break the rules, we're just a skip fire in terms of component management.

The sanction is disproportionate - that's the issue for me.

So basically our owner, Ex Chairman and board lied to everyone, what's new.

Yep, it's now blindingly obvious that - like all the other times - the people running the club outright lied to us all. The documents show that the Premier League was in fact signing off on our actions - as we were told - but were also continuously warning us that we were pushing it - which we weren't told. And we just kept pushing it until it bit us.

And we admitted to the breach, which directly contradicts all the statements coming from the club that we did nothing wrong and would defend ourselves fully.

Sham all around.

Doesn't change the fact that the punishment is disproportionate, of course, but the club is not clean-handed in this mess.
