Ademola Lookman

I'm sorry but I'm not having that they were desperate for him to succeed and then threw him in for about 500 minutes of the game time this season. That's clear hyperbole.

I think it’s hyperbole to suggest that he deserved to play based on his performances/attitude on and off the pitch.

McNulty is a great journalist who only reports honestly about us. He’s one of the best connected people in football and I don’t see why he’d have anything to gain from lying about Marco/Marcel to make them look good, but slating Koeman and Sam?

I rate the lad too but Silva was public about his concerns. No smoke and mirrors or speculation.

He didn't get game time because he couldn't be arsed in training

They were probably desperate for him to pull his pud out once in a while - the sulky little biff just couldn't be bothered to

So on one hand you're saying he didn't get given a chance but on the other you're saying we should have sold him last season regardless.

I'd say giving him a season to make it hear under the new manager was a chance.
Yes. And I would have been furious if we sold him last summer too. But to decide to keep him and still not get him in the team for any real run is poor planning.

I don't think it's contradictory to say we should have given him more chances and we also should have been able to plan well enough to take the money when first offered if the chances weren't going to be there.

I just don't see the comments he made in March being comments about someone he's desperate to see do well. I'm just not buying that assessment regardless of what they've told McNulty.

Just gonna keep posting this till it registers at this point.

"We know what his quality is and you know I believe in his quality since the first day I saw him so it has to be same Lookman everyday with the same desire everyday.
“He needs to understand what the coach wants coming from him, and any winger in our model, because, after that, the quality he has.
“He is a young football player but, being honest with you, I expect Ademola to be on a different level already this season.

Another key part of those quotes in bold. We didn’t turn down Leipzig last summer to let him rot all season - he did that himself.

But okay, facts can be ignored.

Well it is. He was given a whole season of chances. Never took them.

Chances have to be earned and clearly in the manager's opinion he didn't earn them. How can you not fault the player in that situation?

Do you think Silva wouldn't be playing him if he was in form out of pure spite? I don't.

Fair enough, I just don’t see how you can come to that conclusion from what actually happened this season.

For goodness sakes mate give it a rest.
The lad clearly has an attitude problem.
That's obviously a few managers who don't fancy him.
Clearly he has talent , and may or not , kick on with his career.
We move on !

Imagine a 21 year old being inconsistent. I don't know how old you are but it hasn't been long since I was 21 and I can tell you I was not giving 100% effort every single day. I probably didn't hit 50% half the time. And if my dreams and livelihood were played with by incompetent clowns like Koeman and Allardyce and blocked by players like Yannick effin Bolasie I'd probably have been down about it a bit too. And then the new guy comes in and says he's desperate for me to succeed and doesn't get me on the field hardly ever?

Honestly this is clearly best for him. Get him somewhere with trustworthy management and a plan and let him do his thing. Maybe it doesn't work but the only time it happened so far he was brilliant.

YOU ARE FAKE AGENDA

Never mind MG we’ll replace him with more talented players who have the right attitude and want to play for us.

Even if Lookman goes on to be a boss player which could easily happen, the fault was clearly his that he never hit the next level here.

yah Silva wanted to keep a player and not play him on purpose because...........?

If he didnt think lookman had potential he would have binned him and got someone in last summer, RB were bidding for basically the entire summer

Anyone who gets an opportunity like he’s had an doesn’t give 100% every day in training should be nowhere near the club.
