Ademola Lookman

No worries.. not upset at all... only people I’m upset with is Silva and the preceding managers for not knowing how to manage a little upstart.. they better get used to it.. players are getting bigger egos ... can’t manage them like they were 20 years ago..

So we don’t buy players like that - simple.

.... if you believe that Silva has done the right thing picking Walcott ahead of Lookman in countless games where we had nothing to lose and nothing to gain, I’m really not sure what to say.

No game in the PL accounts of nothing to lose nor gain for us where European qualification was always a possibility.

the main difference here is Hudson-Odoi played in the 1st team of a top 4 team, and seriously looked the part. He took the chance when he got it, so that Sarri couldn't really drop him without incurring wrath of the fans.
Lookman NEVER took his chances when he had them. And he never impressed 4 different managers (5 with England) enough to be given any more. Amazing how all the expert, highly paid football coaches and managers don;t rate him that well. But no, they're wrong because you saw him do one decent dribble one time.
RBL, a team with a superior record of development to us, rate him highly enough to come back with the same value of offer after a year when he did nothing.

And also go check some match threads last year of you believe he never did anything. In the moment he often got great reviews.

Time to move on.....Bernard is staying, Lookman is leaving.....deal with it. Moaning won't change it. Coach and DoF deemed him sellable and I'd imagine they know a lot more about a player they see every day, upclose and personal than you do.

There's always an excuse trundled out for Brands.

The far more peresuasive assessment is to ask what tangible benefit was made through delaying his departure from last summer to this one. There are none. Ergo, it was a bad decision.

Hindsight it wonderful. It wasn’t a bad decision, it was a decision that didn’t have the best outcome. You can see the reasons for making that call.

The benefit of “delaying” it, which he didn’t, because he wasn’t expecting him to flop so badly, was that if he came good like they hoped he’d be starting for us.

At the time no one complained that he stayed.

If Silva doesn't want him then neither do I. Couldn't get in the team with Koeman, Gravy tits and now Silva and couldn't get in the team ahead of a failing Walcott

You can’t compare lookman to Hudson Odoi.. Odoi did more in his first 10 minutes in a Chelsea shirt than Lookman has in his entire playing time for us.

Exactly. HIndsight is always 20/20. Perhaps they felt they could bring him around, improve his game, improve his attitude, needed depth, whatever. I'd rather they did that, admit they were wrong, and sell now, rather than double down on a bad decision and just continue to string him along here.

This is both true and not proof they're right
In a few years time they may not be right. However, he's not in the plans, has some value and therefor is expendable. Who knows, lots of players fail to reach potential and can't live up to the hype. He didn't have signs that's he's the next big thing. I feel it was a smart business move for a club that's trying to compete right now, not three or four years from now when Lookman may or may not reach his potential.

Basically the criticism of Brands is that he isn’t mystic and couldn’t foresee that Lookman would contribute zero. Mind blowing.

Fair criticism would be that he hasn’t solved the striker situation yet. But no, the choice of criticism is that he can’t see into the future

You have the wrong person I haven't done that. But since you brought it up, it's actually way closer than you think. If Lookman was consistently on the field all season it's possible he would have been just as impressive.
