Ronald Koeman came in the December and two months later he played me and let me play until the end of the season.
“Young players need to make mistakes to learn from them and you need to play week in, week out.
Because Richarlison and Bernard were our starting wingers and playing very well, why would Silva drop either of them for a lad who isn't doing it in training?Couldn’t agree more. Why Silva didn’t just give him the last 10 games and say, “you’re getting 90 minutes, no matter what happens, I’ve got faith in you”.
Obviously it didn’t happen so yeah, we move on. But it’s irritating that these steps haven’t been taken and we see another young player with potentially the highest quality slip away.
People use this “4 managers haven’t started him” statement as a stick to beat him with. The fact that all 4 managers didn’t feel safe enough in their jobs to throw a young and untested player in, because they couldn’t afford a poor performance, is probably far more telling - ironically he will probably fair better at clubs in European competition with a more consistent and stable management.
Walcott is a great footballer who fails to perform. Lookman hasn't reached those heights..... if you believe that Silva has done the right thing picking Walcott ahead of Lookman in countless games where we had nothing to lose and nothing to gain, I’m really not sure what to say.

Walcott gets picked regularly because he has pace which worries defenders. Lookman has tricks but no pace.Walcott is a great footballer who fails to perform. Lookman hasn't reached those heights.

Or just as likely we will have made a massive profit on a young player with potential who never reached it.
