Not ideal at all. We have to hope we get one in (two would have been my preferece and get shut of Tosun and Walcott) and we have to hope they hit the ground running.

It's typical Everton: seat of the pants stuff. They are not serious as a football club. Not at all. Amateur night once again.

...and even if you were right on all three (you weren't) you'd still have stuck to the view that not buying a striker in January was the right thing to do...and you'll probably stick to that line if these 'kin duffers dont bring one in this summer....AGAIN.

Dave get back on point, selling lookman last summer to fund buying a striker was, in my opinion, not an error, as you suggested.

This is because there wasn’t a great swell of available quality strikers (you listed 2, neither tore up the pl) in the 25m bracket available who would significantly improve our team, given at the time many still had hopes Tosun would come good, plus we didn’t know DCL couldn’t hit a cows bum with a banjo... moreover silva wanted to assess the player (lookman).

That is the counter to the assertion you made, no more, no less.

If we don’t buy a striker this summer I won’t be happy.

But it doesn't matter who was suggested, it'd be batted away and dismissed, because the cult of Brands has to be maintained.

Maybe youlre right, maybe there was no one avaialable...but thre evidence again this summer suggests that he's unable to do his homework and secure one...for the third window running.

I desperately hope I'm wrong on that. But as things stand, I have a slipping hope that a striker will be brought in now.

Dave you don’t know that he isn’t working on one, no one does because nothing is getting leaked out either way. We could end up with 2 30m+ young strikers or with another, more experienced striker.

The Cult of Brands will be maintained and it will prosper...It's only a matter time before you also are bowing before our beautiful Dutch DOF....
