Ademola Lookman

Anyway, ive said my piece on this boy over and over again.

I held big hopes for him, I was as baffled as the next person why he wasnt getting games ahead of Walcott certainly and also yes Bernie, considering how low his digits are.

But after Silva publically called him out it all made sense.

The lad is VERY talented and if he can get his head right and apply himself, he will no doubt go on to have a very good career. It hasnt worked out for him here, whether thats his fault is very much up for debate, but I shall no longer be adding to it.

Goodbye RATFINK, may your feet stand on a thousand lego pieces.
I see the Silva comments as a culmination of a lot of poor management, bad circumstances and yes some immaturity on Lookman's part and not necessarily a sign that Lookman was the root cause all along. He's a kid, he handled it poorly, the club handled it poorly and ultimately we lose out on a talented young player.

But @MarcelsGoat is only putting the facts to you same as many others have and you just don't like it. Your whole Lookman argument is based on a few games had during a short loan spell in an inferior league. The England u21 team did'nt pick him either despite him having all this worldly talent you keep going on about, so overall that's 5 managers that have chosen to ignore him and it's all the managers fault is it? don't think so mate. Also if he is really as good as you keep saying he is then he would not be signing for a club like RBL, they are nothing but a money making exercise who look for quick turnovers with players. If Lookman is this real hot talent then why are the big boys not interested in him? we are hardly asking for Zaha money are we. Yes, he maybe should have had a few more games over someone like Theo but at the same time he is just another middle of the road winger imo.

Got the potential to be a great player. At the moment he isn't. Therefore I couldn't care less, if he wants to leave, bye.

I think he lacks the work rate to be a great player. Has a few moments of magic in him but he can't be one of these players we refer to as 'potential' for about 4 seasons like we did with Ross. Ross had the makings of a world beater but it never went right for him. Is a decent player in a decent side but I don't see Lookman ever being a great player.

A club like RBL that has finished 2nd 6th and 3rd the last three seasons. Like it or not they are quickly becoming one of the big boys. There's no reason to expect them not to be a regular CL team in that league. I'd like to think Everton have the capacity to be better than them but right now we aren't.

Now as for my argument being all about his time in another league that just isn't true. It's no secret that I do rate his performances there highly but he's done much more with us than Goat is letting on. Just this last season he had two assists one of which won us the match. He tore apart City and Kyle Walker specifically. He made a mess of Kante and Azpilicueta on the same dribble. He set up Tosun for a big chance and got robbed of scoring himself by Etheridge against Cardiff. And then inexplicably he disappeared only to reemerge with a promising cameo vs Burnley and a big hand in scoring an equalizer at Spurs.

So when I say people are being dishonest when they say he's done nothing in blue this is what I mean. He's done quite a few things considering the minutes he got. If it's easier to say the manager said he didn't work hard so leaving him out made sense than you can do that but it didn't make sense to me.

I wish the lad well.
He needs to realise though that talent alone will not suffice. He needs to learn to be more of a team player , work harder , improve his attitude , and then he may fulfil his potential. We have made a profit on him , and will no doubt have add on clauses in his sale. Shame he never made it here , but we need to move on.

SMASH HIM SIMON

Whoscored does per game by default.

And I'm kind of resigned to it now so getting a new winger would certainly make things better. I wouldn't judge Lookman's entire character off of one answer to a question and his facial expression but many seem content to do that. I've never seen him slack in a match and ultimately that's what matters to me. When you add in the talent level, which people seem to have forgotten he often displayed despite extremely limited minutes, its just a completely disappointing situation.
Yea it is a little disappointing but we have every reason to be optimistic. 3rd place over final 10 games with some quality results, playing with style and confidence. The team spirit is very good and can't be underestimated(look at Leicester when they won the league), so if someone wants out that badly then cut em loose. He won't really be missed. Hopefully we have a sell on clause in case he does become a worldie :)

Sounds like the Rooney scenario again. Although if Lookman couldn’t show enough in training to force a place in the team ahead of Walcott that also says
A lot?
