Aiden McGeady

"Chubby" but probably fitter than 80% of the people saying that about him.

Well, 100% of those people don't play football in the Premier League.

He looks a bit out of shape imo, he hasn't played a match in nearly two months so it's somewhat understandable.

Just can't see him reaching the pedals, will have to drop the seat I reckon.

McGeady must have had an inkling that the transfer could happen this month and was training accordingly. I am sure that he will be a little rusty and lacking in match fitness but a weeks hard training will improve him a lot and he probably will be able to play some part of the game this night week.
It will take a few weeks for him to get up to complete match fitness.

Good, low centre of gravity.

But wait... isn't he supposed to be fast? Short legs don't help there.

He's still fast, he just manages to move his legs fast and actually go fast rather than being like Pienaar whose legs move fast but he doesn't really move that quickly. Still though, pace is nice but at the end of the day it's acceleration and quick feet that get you past defenders and he's got plenty of that.

Also he doesn't seem too out of shape in that picture up there, sure he's probably not 100% but he's definitely in good enough condition to do a job from the bench. After all, Osman has practically no physical attributes but his quick feet and good football brain makes him effective off the bench so McGeady must surely have enough technique to get past a lack of match fitness.

A good addition to a bit of threadbare squad, Roberto is planning for europa league at the very minimum and wants some good options without having to fully exert our first 11. At the worst he'll be warming the bench and a good option to come off and run at tired opponents, that or he'll become a rejuvenated player under Roberto's guidance (not unlike Shaun Maloney).

Either way this a good signing, one of the more talented players in an international side that is scattered with a few decent premiership players, yet unforunately with more championship standard players.

Us fans of Everton have known this is going to happen, inevitable signing but to the media this has gone completely under the radar. Which is what we want, they'll be too concerned on United, Spurs and the rest of the top 4, failures, plus the ongoing relegation battle.

He's Scotch. He gets a boost off fried mars bars. Leave the lad alone. All he needs is space for the Geads Spin.

Think he'll see some minutes at Stevenage, he'd also get games for the U21's too. Think he'll be on the bench for the game against Liverpool, as will Deulofeu.

The cup game would seem like the perfect run out for him. The transfer seems to have been timed ideally too so that he has a week away in Tenerife to get to know his new teammates.
