Aiden McGeady

People slagging him off on the basis of a friendly game.. where he was left alone by his 'partner' for the majority of the match. Players like him who rely on skill and quick feet take time to get sharp. Wind your bloody neck in you morons.

Wait until the first game of the season.

Mcgeady will prove a lot of you wrong.

yet still created 3/4 really good chances

The life of a winger ha!

If Deulfeou had have had a game like yesterday and created those chances people would be creaming themselves saying he's full of 'potential', McGeady just gets pelters.

Last season we had 'the new Messi' this season it looks like we've got 'the new Osman'

Pre-season is about building up fitness in order to be ready to hit the ground running when the season starts. Too much knee-jerking going on from a couple of the friendly games we've played.

If someone had stuck away one or two of the chances he created people would be going on about the game completely differently.

In reality though - we looked like it was a pre-season game. Some players were fairly rusty and there's some work to be done to be ready for the proper games in 2 weeks time. McGeady will be hit and miss at times but there's very few wingers who aren't. I'd still rather see him line up on the right than Osman / Naismith / Anichebe (remembering the Moyes days)

He looked reluctant to run at players for large portions of the game for me. When he actually committed he looked OK, unfortunately this was for about 10 minutes before he came off.

For a team that has had Deulofeu and probably will have Atsu he's quite a honestly a waste of time and space. Not even an off the bench type option for me. Sorry if that sounds harsh its just that we all know we can get better than him in the same way we can get better than Alcatraz and Robles and Kone, all of whom should be nowhere near the bench let alone the first team at a club like Everton.

Remind me if he's on 60k a week?

Im not really sure how you can say this mate when, coming off the bench, he created the winner against Cardiff (Coleman with the finish).

Doesnt that prove that he is at least someone worthy of the Premier League?

Also, I do think that you're forgetting our finances. If we had players a level up from Alcaraz, Robles and Kone then we would need the budget to not only sign them but also contract them. We arent City or Arsenal, our squad players are going to be a lower level.

Still don't understand either how you can bash Kone. He's played next to no minutes for us and the season before he bagged 13 goals, only 3 less than Lukaku did for us last year. If we had had 13 more league goals last season we would have most likely finished in the top 4.

Dont be so quick to judge players mate, especially when the facts are stacked heavily against what you're saying! All about opinions though I guess, it's what the forum is for.

Big difference between Deulofeu and McGeady m8. Del is Young and improving, at 28 McGeady should be in his prime or very close to it. If we get 10 minutes of good play out of him in a 90 min game, then his level of play isn't enough and never will be.

I don't rate him highly, I admit. But I would love for him to prove me wrong and show us all that he does have the skill to play for us as a starter.

He's awesome at turning though lol

I like players who can be relied upon to produce on a consistent basis. Mcgeady will never fall into that category.
His whole career is one of inconsistency and he is a player who will never be reliable to any extent.
Not worthy of a starting place for me at all.
Use him only when out of better options. Last 10-15 minutes.

I think though it is awkward, Roberto signed him up and could feel obliged to give him a lot of game time.
