Is it just me that thought iwobi seemed to be in acres of space most of the time but we always passed it out wide instead of finding him
I’ve given him plenty of stick in the past because he was very poor but mostly because he was a shirker and bluffer, did a lot of running with no end product, swerved any real tackling and couldn’t get rid of the ball quick enough, didn’t want any responsibility, all while mostly playing as a winger.

Now look at him playing central midfield, he wants the ball, goes hunting for it, backing teammates up, creating chances, and looks a totally different player, today he ran intentionally into a great position when Gordon broke through and ran along the line in on goal but chose to pass the ball right across the goal instead of the more simple pass to where Iwobi had ran to and would have had a great chance to increase our lead.

Have fellow cockneys Lampard and Cole given him this new found confidence, he has taken on a new lease of life and if he keeps it up he can not only help to keep us up but we would actually get a very decent fee for him if we decided to sell where previously it looked like we couldn’t give him away, carry on Alex you are winning fans over who previously didn’t want you near the team and I was one of them.

I will hold my hands up. Had completely written him off as one of the worst signings in our history. The last month or so, he has shown guts, determination, a willingness to take responsibility and make things happen, energy and desire.

He has looked our best source of drive and has even bounced back from the West ham mistake - even though he'd done well in that game. He has been integral to the 9 points we have won under Lampard.

So Alex Iwobi, I salute you. Take a bow son. I didn't think a player could change my opinion so much, but you have. That is the standard. That is how you become a proper Everton player. Still a long way to go though, but really good progress....

I think he’s had a kick up the arse and realises what a perilous position we’re in, he’s not good enough for Everton but at least he’s showing some commitment now

A player transformed. Whether it is Lampard or the coaching staff or Iwobi himself I don’t know, but if he can perform like that consistently then he will be a useful asset and to be fair there have been a few similar performances since Lampard arrived so long may it continue.

That period of chasing the ball down first half is probably the best I've ever seen from any Everton player.

Unbelievable effort and pace on display. Happy he's turned it around a bit.

He has the athleticism alone to contribute but needs the right mentality and consistency to make it here longer term. His athletic ability gives him a huge advantage over most of the league and he should embrace that and continue the hard work.

Has to stay in the middle. Despite all his running and tricks he's not quick enough to be a winger/ forward. Looks half decent in midfield.
