I'd honestly rather let him go on a free next summer than get anything less than 20 mil for him.

I know he doesn't pass the eye test for a lot of people, but his work-rate and forward passing are an asset to the team that I don't think we can afford to lose this season.

I would honestly let him go for free tomorrow.

Hopefully we can fend off all this interest in this creative player that has 12 months remaining on his deal.

I see what you're getting at here mate, but I think clubs are interested, but teams just won't be willing to splash ~ 20 mil on him because while he is a good player, he's not clear as day Champions League talent.

From Iwobi's point of view, it makes more sense for him to see out his contract and then have his pick of clubs next summer. Because once he's out of contract, there will be a lot of club's who'll be looking to sign him.

His forward pressing is a myth.

He runs at someone then stops about 5 yards away from them and let's them do whatever they want with the ball.

He doesnt actually tackle or try to win the ball.

Why would they have to pay £20m? No one has even tested the water with a £10m bid or anything. I think it’s genuinely because no one wants to pay money for him. This isn’t a great reflection on him as supposedly our biggest and best most creative fulcrum.

If by “his pick of clubs” you mean Club Brugge or Fenerbahce then yes good luck to him.

We paid 35 mil for him, mate. The club would have to try and get as much of that back as possible in order to bring in someone to replace late in the window. There's also been mixed reports on his wages, some have him as low as 50k pw, others have him as 100k pw. That could also be a barrier to a buying club.

And on your point about the potential buying clubs, let's imagine we're in an alternative universe were you actually rate Iwobi, would you pay 10+ mil for him now? Or just sign him on a free next summer?

I'm not saying he's amazing, there's a reason why he's no one's main transfer target. But let's say you're in the Europa league and you need a good creative option to bolster your squad, Iwobi would fit the bill.

Just watch the Fulham highlights again mate, almost every good chance we had came through him.

Yeah, because all of our creative play goes through him.

He'll have one game where he looks decent then he'll stink the gaff out for the next 20.

I keep saying it but when we were challenging for Europe he couldn't get near our team. Now hes our "creative" spark we're battling relegation and he doesn't stand out.

This lad being our creativity is one of the main reasons why we're where we are as a team.

If he was as good as people are saying he is in here, yes I definitely would before hundreds of clubs are fighting over him when he’s a free agent.

We paid £28m for him.

Wed be lucky to get whats left on his amortisation. Also he's on over 75kpw.

No team that would be interested in taking him can afford those wages.

Hes got leaving on a free to Turkey written all over him.

I agree the fact he's one of our better players is more of an indictment on where we are rather than him being incredible.

Soon we are going to have McNeil, Iwobi, Harrison, Danjuma and hopefully Gnonto as widemen / #10s, hopefully that will address the issue of relying on one player to create everything for us.

For me Iwobi's biggest weakness is that he offers very little goal threat himself.

Hopefully when Harrison, Danjuma and McNeil come back to full fitness it'll mean the end of having to put up with Iwobi. I really don't understand what people see in him, other than a lad that runs around a bit. People quickly forget that he was bought for £35m when that was a lot of money and when we were actually a somewhat decent side, in 4 years he's provided 9 goals and 16 assists for a supposed creative player.

Look around the world, there are teams absolutely crying out for players that people act like he is, he'd be incredibly cheap too relative to others, so where's the interest? He'll leave us next year (hopefully) and he'll be off to Turkey with no real interest from anywhere else because he's utterly crap. I think it's mad that people go on about us only signing relegated players because they bring the quality down or something but then completely ignore the fact that Iwobi didn't contribute anything to this club until we were in relegation battles, this is his level despite us signing him from Arsenal for big money and when we were going for Europe.
