A proper conversation where everything lands on the table is long overdue. There's been plenty of smoke for a very long time now. Enough so, that everything was buried over national security concerns. "If the Russians can do that..."

I doubt we'll get that from this lot. This is cheap political theater, hosted by second-rate politicians desperate to become national names. What they're searching for is clout and a broader fundraising profile that would secure their seats from intra-party challenges. The truth is immaterial.

Whether there's fire is another question entirely, but that's something we cannot evaluate without the evidence.

Because of the size of the universe. You’re right the odds of there not being aren’t zero but the processes that created life are naturally created bio chemistry. They found organic molecules on Mars that are 3 billion years old. That’s our neighbour. Doesn’t mean there was 100% life there but it’s a good indicator. Extrapolate that to the known universe and potentially beyond. If you were a betting man you’d say it’s likely there was. Even Europa or Titan is it, one of Saturns moons. They have liquid water or one of them does under the crust. It’s not hard to imagine there were geothermal vents there to that created single cell biological life. That’s just in our solar system. There’s billions upon billions of them across the universe.
 

Nothing would please me more than for all this to be true, but something just strikes me as ‘off’ for this whole disclosure thing.

Like, plenty of military and intelligence types testifying, but are there any actual proper scientists, physicists and the like giving testimony here with actual scientific data or evidence?
Or is it just more grainy footage, half redacted documents and ‘witness’ testimony?

Oh I agree there is logic behind there being something but I mean, there's still a chance it really is just us.

Yer I agree mate, there is a chance but I think the actual numbers would indicate there’s more of a chance there is then there isn’t. Again though that’s just simple single cell stuff, I think there’s possibly no other other complex life out there. Or if there is it’s probably met a great filter and gone. Or it’s in another part of the universe outside our local group and we’ll never know each other existed

I like reading about the theory that there were intelligent alien species out there but they've already been and gone billions of years ago.

I agree. I'm quite skeptical of the supposed evidence. I'll be the first to come back to this thread and eat crow if there is some sort of robust material evidence for non-human visitors from space, but I'm quite certain the US government isn't sitting on any.

Yer I mean life came about on earth about 4 billion years ago. It just took us till about 800-500 million years ago for the Cambrian explosion for anything of anything complexity. You can probably write off the early universe as being to unstable to support life but that’s still about 12 billion years for life to come about somewhere else

I get the skepticism but I do think that Bob Lazar is pretty compelling. There’s definitely something out there spooking governments unless it’s project blue beam which I find more unbelievable ha
