I think the craft they’ve found are real. I don’t think they’re alien though.

I think given how rare we think multi cell life probably is and given these craft supposedly use gravity engines for propulsion I think they’re us from the future. I think the engines are capable of bending space and time. I don’t think the pilots are us but more like an organic drone sent to observe. Some of them are probably unmanned.

I personally don't think it should be compared to the original. For me it's a different genre. First is a suspenseful horror movie set on a claustrophobic spaceship. Second is an action movie with marines and bullets galore. Both great movies and quite surprisingly well done to base them on the same universe and the same main character but be pretty different in style.

Also no. Aliens are not here. There are about 15 BILLION mobile phone in the world yet we're seeing less "UFO" footage these days than the days of grainy dash cams or handheld VHS cameras.

I enjoy star trek but the universal translator was a glossed over bad gimmick.

They turned it from something that was part of the com badge to make you understand what aliens said to something that with a slight bit of cosmetic surgery could make you pass for an alien. Even though obviously the device was external and your mouth movements would be all over the place compared to the word, also your normal voice would also be audible.
