This is like the Gordon saga all over again. Is 55m fair? Sure it's ok. Is Onana the finished article? Nope. Move him on. "oh we didn't double our money". We just got a player we ALMOST doubled our money on in one year. Rinse / repeat ffs.

Sentimentality needs to be out the window in our current state. This isn't Cahill Baines Arteta Pienaar. I couldn't care if one player stayed from our current lot.

He’s the highest potential player at the club by a mile. I find it ridiculous that some expected him to come into the prem at his age and boss every match from day 1. He’s gonna be a top top player in a few years. Sadly, I’m not sure if we can afford to keep him that long.

By the time he was 21, Dele Alli had 2 PFA young player of the year awards in the bag....

Just sayin.....

So in order to be a top prospect you have to be Dele Alli? The same Dele Alli whose career is also finished. If from 24-30 Onana is what he probably will be, he’ll have had the better career.

If they want him that badly, sell him and loan him back for the season. A second season should see a more rounded set of performances from him which could really help our season.
No thanks if he’s gone he’s gone, performances wasn’t great as our own player never mind back on loan.

Each to their own but I think if we rinse Chelsea net of any transfer fee, and see how he progresses in his second season I think that’s a good deal. The alternatives are we rinse them and then have to go looking for a midfielder (our ability with transfers is not great) or alternatively we keep him in which case he plays for us next season any way. Keeping him for a season and helping our financial position makes sense to me

He has a sell on fee of 20% and we paid 30 million for him.

If we have paid the 30 million already and we get 55 million for him we’ll get 44 million net.

Not going to bore you with amortisation but whilst it’ll help cash flow it’ll only be a 20 million profit for the accounts.

Anything we get for Pickford is close to pure profit for cash flow and accounts which may make it more likely.

Nope. In order ro be a top prospect you have to show you can perform consistently in the Premier League to a standard that positively contributes to the team you represent.

He didn't contribute as much as Gueye or Doucoure and we got our lowest ever PL points total.

And I genuinely saw more potential from Garner than Onana..

Keep the 2 of them ....sell Iwobi & Gray.
