When?

I see this brought up a lot? When he has done this? What attitude?

I have a hard time liking a godawful penalty with thinking you are too good for a club too. I cant see any player thinking "what can I do to show I am too good for a club today? I know, take a ridiculously bad penalty!"

It makes no sense.
He thinks he's a lot better than he actually is. he has that attitude about him and it was on full display last night with that pathetic attempt at a penalty. If that sails overhead or to the side then so be it but when he rolls right to the keeper like that, there's no excuse. And like I said earlier, that penalty sums up his attitude. Not as good as he thinks he is.

Can't just blame him. Really whoever decided the kick takers is to blame too considering onana is still young and maybe can't be trusted to make such a decision given his lack of experience. But let's be honest it's just the league Cup. Much bigger fish to fry still instead of what is effectively a friendly cup competition.

If he comes out and issues a public apology to both the fans and his team mates it'll go a long way to redeeming himself.

Unfortunately I imagine if he's of a similiar ilk to Big Rom / Mirallas he'll have already gotten over it this morning and wont be bothered as he knows he'll win shiny things in 12-24 months at a top 6 club. Meanwhile us long suffering fans and players like Coleman and Pickford continue hurting with no success.

Not sure why you feel that way mate. The look on the face of Onana, after his pen was saved, shows his embarrassment and disappointment. The thing is, he approached the pen in a way he thought was correct; sadly it didn't work out. Nothing is going to change that outcome. I'm sure that during the remainder of our Season Onana will do plenty of things on the pitch that will give us cause for celebration, and that's a more positive thing to focus on now, imho.

O.webp

This is the reality and who knows they might even sell in January if the money is right in order to keep Branthwaite. Sign Brownhill for under 10 million to do a job until the end of the season.
No way do we replace someone like Onana with Brownhill that's a massive down grade imo.
