Respectfully disagree. Caicedo has looked pretty ordinary every time I’ve seen him.
Why is there always a clamour to sell anyone we have with potential because he hasn’t turned into Zidane within 3 months of arriving?
its the manager and brighton system which makes the players look good. bissouma and curucella aint exactly pulling up trees now at their new clubs and look ordinary as well.

We sold Gordon and Kean (and more) for £70 mill in the last 8 months, we‘ve spent £12 million since then.

Makes no sense to me why people would be open to selling him, 0 guarantees any money would be reinvested into the squad.

Good point and context.

I’d be for selling for a big profit and turning players over generally.

As this is Everton, I would be much more comfortable knowing what the details of the black hole the clubs money was going into were.

I do think we are in a particularly perilous position at the minute due to terrible business in the last 5-6 years, cutting it close with ffp, sacking managers etc.

There isn't, but everyone has a price.... that goes for all clubs. I would rather we keep him,

Respectfully Liverpool & Chelsea were willing to break a transfer record for him, I would be going with them over you on this one & when I have seen him he is levels above Onana. He also surpasses him on every statistic.

Nothing under double what we paid considering the market, his age & potential. If Utd think he still isn’t prem proven yet to command that fee then they can jog on.

That was a midfield masterclass.

I think some of the posters saying he was "anonymous" should watch that seeing as they clearly didnt watch the match.

£91mil transfer record and even then id be unhappy if we sold him.
Watching that, he must feel like the guy that gives someone a diamond ring then watches them drop it into the toilet and flush it away.

Looks like one of the highlight reels from an entire season that people drool over in the transfer thread.

He really was special Saturday

What stood out to me was nice touches and passes in tight spaces the other day. He could have had two direct assists and one "assisting the assistor." Thought he was fantastic. If you think he had a bad game or went missing, then you'll just never have anything good to say about anything ever. I'd prefer to keep him but I'd take 80 mil and Christian eriksen and let garner take his place as I think he's a real baller

Everton would not be interested in swap deals should they sell and would want considerable profit on a player they believe has the potential to be one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.
They beat West Ham to sign the 21-year-old from Lens last summer for £33m and his early promise prompted Chelsea to make an offer around £50m for him in January while Arsenal also expressed interest. *(This is when Onana rejected moves in January)
Club insiders also insist they are under no immediate pressure to sell the 6ft5' holding player.

To add:

The market will find its level and £100m is currently the minimum going rate for a top-class midfielder. Or, at least, a midfielder with the potential to become top-class. It isn't likely to come down in the foreseeable either.

Its getting too late in the window for us to use it meaningfully and not over pay or waste it, I agree. That said though I don't think we will be able to stop him if he gets wind of offers, player power these days and he knows his career isn't going to be made here this is a stepping stone.
