The positive slant is we bought a player and sold him for a hefty profit and some extras to come later . Thats a first for a while. The player has not IMO done much for us and just seemed to stroll around. Not really what we want or need .. He may progress to a higher level and if he does fair play .. We are the winners here either way .

He is, best way to be an overrated midfielder is to take some penalties
Luiz was comfortably our best midfielder last season and set the tempo for the way we played. He was in most pundits team up to around Christmas too so effective was he. The only change came from the Kamara injury and him having to drop deeper which didn't suit him as much. There weren't many midfield combinations better than Kamara - Luiz last season. As for the penalties, he only took about 5.

He clearly has a lot of ability and attributes. Humility is not one of them, and that’s what is most likely to hold him back from him reaching his mystical ceiling (that he’s spent the last few years staring at and wondering what age he should try and reach it). He needs to want it and work for it. He thinks he already has it. Hard to coach desire.

Sitting on the bench while we put a club-saving run together may or may not have given him a wake up call. But doesn’t sound like it.

Everyone’s happy now anyway. Was always going to end exactly like this the moment he signed. Good luck and best wishes to him.
