The lad hasn't had a pre season, so to ask him to play through English football's ridiculous Xmas schedule at 100% was never going to happen. Give him next weekend off completely and hopefully see him return to form the weekend after.

Both teams took the game to us in the second half and we could barely string a pass together. There´s a huge onus on Gomes to be the player who prevents that. People can say he´s tired, maybe he is but we have seen very little of this player up until now. Really think people got carried away far too quickly.
