If he had the consistency to play as he did for the first 6/7 games for the whole season, he wouldn’t be at Everton.

The issue for us is that it’s all on him (or whoever is) in that 6 role. We need to find a way to play with and without him in top form.

Need to cut him a lot of slack. Look at the much lauded big money midfield buys like Keita, Fred and Fabinho; all needed bedding in to the EPL pace of the game. Unfamiliar pace, unfamiliar style, unfamiliar country/culture, and on top of that coming in with an existing injury. But despite these challenges, Gomes has already shown what he’s capable of; but his form will fluctuate for a while. His relative lack of pace is something he needs to balance out with swift and decisive decision making, which will develop quicker when he develops a good understanding with players around him. And that, in turn, relies on an established and settled team/formation/tactics...

I maintain he has had enough.
