Christ, some horrific posts in here.

If I could be bothered going to the vaults, I bet I’d find loads of posts from people decrying Son’s “snide” challenge, wishing our players were a bit more snide themselves.

YES, he absolutely wanted to trip him and defo should have got a yellow but he couldn’t have had any clue about how it was to end up. If every player thought through the consequences of every challenge - snide or not - they were about to make, to its worst conclusion there’d be no more tackling in the game.

Red card SHOULD be rescinded, because it was only given due to the outcome of the challenge and not the challenge itself.

I absolutely feel sorry for Son, because that and feeling sorry for Gomes are not mutually exclusive, believe it or not.
Has anybody said that they are exclusive or have you just made that up to suit your faux outrage?

I don't feel sorry for Son because I don't see any reason to. He fouled somebody who ended up getting badly hurt. He didn't mean for it to happen but it did, and he knows that his foul was deliberate. I felt sorry for Rondon when he broke McCarthy's leg, because that was a completely accidental thing, but this was different. I don't hate the bloke, I don't think he's a despicable human being, I just don't see why he deserves my sympathy.

Disagree, no attempt to play the ball and a callous "challenge" through the back of the player intending to leave one on him. It will be disgraceful on Spurs part to even attempt to appeal it.

If the tit could've kept a lid on his temper Gomes would've walked off the pitch, regardless on whether or not he meant to severely injure him (which he obviously didnt).

In the midst of all this.

here is a photo of the sexbomb to ease the pain.

Totally agree.

It was a trip that happens every ten minutes or so in a game,no chance he could have envisaged Gomes would have ended up with his weight on his ankle at the angle it ended up in. The Coleman tackle the other week was far worse.

It was accidental, the lad clearly intended to lip Gomes, but they had been at each other the whole game. Nobody could have seen such an innocuous challenge having such a dire outcome. There is no way on earth Son’s reaction was in any way put on, he was as horrified as our lads were (and not because he feared the consequences of his action). It is a bitch that we have had three such injuries in recent times, but i do not believe the modern footballer deliberately goes out to ‘finish’ an opponent.

Was there yesterday and watching it live son made no attempt to get the ball.On TV it is clear as day he went for the man. Gutless cowards challenge.I was nearer to the ball than that shi£house and I was in the street end. So hope he gets grief for a long time to come and I for one have not got one ounce of sympathy for Son.(shi£house).

Gomes had just nearly taken Son's head off, of course he is going to react. As I said earlier., Gomes does it a lot.
