Its ok being bad but the ultra display of cowardice he shows. Terrified to pass ot forward to people unmarked. Doesnt even look up sometimes and straight back. Does be in acres of space and takes so long that he does be smothered. He looks terrified playing.

He must not play if we want to survive, simple as that, forget about putting players around him to make his game easier, just put someone there who is much superior and making life easier for everyone else without a need to drag the whole team out of a defensive shape just to accommodate him.

I think every new Everton manager goes through that phase to experience first hand how some of the players are "pretenders". But the frustrating part is they can put in a good performance, so it's always a roll of a dice on these players. And how many we've seen Andre Gomes play as if he is this mid maestro only to be massively disappointed the next game?

I respect Lampard that he wants to assess the players on his own without the influence of fans, ex-managers, board, etc. but I think for players like Gomes, Micheal Keane, Iwobi, Gbamin and Tosun, they are better off left untouched and only be used in FA Cup. Now we are in serious trouble in the PL, we actually do not have time for him to test players out.

Absolutely not the player for a scrap at the bottom of the table. He lacks commitment and fight

This, and he looks genuinely depressed on the pitch, like he’d rather be anywhere else in the world. Has the most overtly negative body language of any player I’ve ever seen. That’s bound to spread across the team.

I don’t like that he’s been used as the scapegoat. We all know what Gomes is good at and how to get the best out of him - shouldn’t be a surprise to see poor performances when he’s utilised wrongly.

He’s not the long term answer but he’s definitely not the only problem.

I actually don’t know what he’s good at, can you help me out? I assume he’s boss if no one is allowed to go within 3 foot of him?

Tbf mate Richarlison is no different. Him and Alli had a mix up last night and he didn’t even look up towards Alli afterwards, just sauntered on with his constantly moaning face.

They’re all massive shithouses who think they deserve better than this - they’re very wrong.

he is so easy to play against shelvey had his card marked from the start.
im not sure what his role is tbh,he doesnt protect the back 4 and produces nothing going forward
i actually thought he was poor for the first 20 minutes against brentford,
he is so mentally weak he looks like he is about to burst into tears.

I agree with all of this. I can’t take to Richarlison in the same way a lot of others seem to be able to.

When playing in a two he’s asked to have much more defensive responsibility. Everyone knows that he’s rubbish at that and always has been. As part of a three, or on the rare occasions we’re dominating the middle, he thrives.

I thought he was excellent against Brentford and was one of the better players in the first half last night - albeit not saying much. Him and Allan were constantly overrun. Then when they got the ball, there was nothing on in front of them.

Yeah, again, I think I may have been watching a very different game.

the only time i have seen him make a contribution this season is when he comes on as a sub late in the game when the opposition is tired.
1 goal in 83 appearences for that position is a pretty shocking return.
he does do good hugs though,iv booked myself in for one on may 22!
