I'd 100% give this a go for the Leeds match. Gomes just isn't mentally strong under pressure. This then means our defence are constantly expecting us to lose the ball in vital areas which will leave them trying to cover. Keane also has a lack of mental strength and Pickford can be a headless chicken. Doesn't help at all with defensive stability.
 
How can you have so much talent. Look great one week then look like you have never kicked a ball the next week. I will never get this fella him and Keane some up this Everton squad no fighting mentality.
 

Doesn't have near the ability that some tout he has. Unless he wants to play with shadows around him.
Overrated and brittle = liability.
I really don't get the sentimental pass some people seem determined to keep giving to him, based off one half-decent first season where he merely did alright.
 
Gomes is perfect for La Liga, were the pitches are bigger. Aswell as International football were the pace is slower. Thats when you see the best of him
 
Did very well against Brentford but let’s be honest, Brentford were complete and utter fecal matter. They rolled over and let us tickle their belly. So he had all the time and space in the world.

Credit to Newcastle they showed up ready to take it to us, they constantly were in Gomes face and he couldn’t handle it.

And the idea that he might once in awhile give like for like by, say, shoulder-barging Shelvey or Joelinton off the ball, is just laughable.

No reason why he should ever start ahead of VdB, or in the same side.
 
the Leeds game is not going to be a good opportunity for Gomes to spray the ball around or play tikki taka footbal. Their players will be all over him like a rash. I think Gomes still has a lot to offer from the bench for us but this game is not for him.
