Just from living over here i know one thing Russians/Ukranians admire is stubbornness, if we back away we are screwed, need to grit it out and show the player and owner we mean business

That's a very dangerous game to play with our season mate. We cant afford a blinking contest at this stage. Not over this key position. As for alternatives: there's go to be a hierarchy of players drawn up to move onto, players who will have been given serious thought and sounded tentatively out for this eventuality when the primary target gets bogged down at a stage like this. We know RM was talking of this type of player a long time ago. It beggars belief he wouldn't have decent back ups to turn to.

mate disagree it's time the club motto actually meant something again, we need to not settle for 'we tried' or 'it's the best we could do in the market' etc. or move onto the third fourth fifth or god knows how far down targets

we are not going to sign Isco or someone if we switch away from Yarmolenko and to think we will end up with anyone better than a utter gamble on a young unproven player (united lid), or someone who has washed out at a few clubs (pato etc) or just a bog average journeyman player is living dreamland - no offence mate but once we had committed this much time to it, it is all or nothing, and should it be nothing then the questions can be smashed into the board and manager about why we went a notoriously difficult route and invested most of the window in it

I'm not arsed, just a sad state of affairs that the majority of the posters in here clinging on to every word so twitter beaut is posting.
