If he's going on a bosman we have no chance, as other clubs will be able to offer better wages/signing on fees. We have a chance now because we seemingly have the cash to buy him, but we can't break our wage structure.

If I remember we missed out on Hazard because they wanted 10 million. We couldn't afford it. A club like Spurs can afford to scattergun for players that price in the hope they become uber boss, but that's not the case here. Anyway, I believe Moyes really saw something in him, but, like Moutinho, it was the money that held us back.

I've not questioned his ability, I asked whether a club in our position should be spending £15m on a player who's available for nothing in a few months.
