I agree with what he's saying but there's nothing wrong with the honesty either. Lots of players refuse to accept their weaknesses and never improve on them. First step to getting better is knowing what you need to work on.

And the fact Ancelotti is telling him what he needs to work on is also positive in a roundabout way. He obviously thinks he can do it, or he wouldn't be bothering.
Good attitude goes a long way... However, very disappointed with him in the last FA cup round , one spin and turn and was found out.

that bad?
I think it's shocking quality mate, clearly it's a win at all costs mentality with Unsworth, as mad as it all sounds that's a nonsense approach, a couple of years ago i remember us winning the under 23 league, our final match was live on the telly against Liverpool who's team was much younger, they played us off the pitch in terms of technical ability. They also won that game and we got presented with the trophy.

We had JJ Kenny and Bainignme step up to first team, Dowell was sold. Pennington was still starting and him over age, Besic came on as sub.
Liverpool had a young TAA and Joe Gomez, Philips, Woodburn, Grujic, The Irish keeper and Harry Wilson.

I think that CA has a very high bar for Anthony Gordon to reach before he gets to play regularly and he hasn't reached that bar yet.

We know that Italian managers place as much value on defending as attacking and I think young Anthony is learning some very difficult lessons at the moment.

I believe this in part may explain his apparent drop off in form as he struggles to become more of an all round player... he was always able to attack but is now learning how to add defensive work and at the moment he has not been able to master what is required of him completely.

He is not such an incredible talent that he can be excused defensive work because of what he brings in an attacking sense.

We must be patient and in the long run we will have a better all round player.
That's all fair comment and I wouldn't have had issue with it had it not been for the much publicised "knocking on the managers door" episode early in the season.

At the time Gordon was showing exciting form, albeit in League cup games, but was outperforming more senior players like Bernard, Siggy, Davies, Kean and Iwobi in those games.

As a result he was "taught a lesson" for his outburst, but more importantly deprived of valuable minutes playing time for the first team at a time when his confidence was sky high and his form excellent. I'm not saying he should have been starting loads more games, but he could have been used more from the bench, especially when Richarlison was out and so many of our more experienced players were performing badly. I'm not surprised he's lost the form and confidence he was showing earlier in the season.

I love Carlo. I think he's been absolutely brilliant for this club and we're extremely lucky to have him. But in my opinion he hasn't handled Gordon very well, and I should be able to express that opinion on an internet forum without the Carlo gestapo jumping on my back lol

Ice skating & gymnastics are 2 sports where you literally fully replicate what happens on the ‘field of play’ in practise.
Oh ffs   Clearly I should have restricted it to fields where you are in direct interactive competition with your opponents or something similar. Still you can't replicate some things - the feeling of competing in front of thousands of people, the nerves, the pressure of going for medals, of satisfying people's expectations, of exceeding the scores and targets set by your competition - in practice, even in those sports.
Nope. You can only build up what I would call ‘match sharpness’ by playing. What Gordon referenced was very clearly fitness related, not sharpness. He said he tired early on. You can 100% prevent that from happening by training. It’s why marathon runners don’t run marathons every day in training, there are other ways of ensuring your fitness is at the right level.

What is your problem, seriously?
@GrandOldTeam @any one else involved....

Believe it or not, I don't actually come on here every day spoiling for a fight. Just sometimes some of the things on here boggle my mind and infuriate me. I'm just very passionate about these things, so I apologise if/when I've gone over the top in my responses. Lets just draw a line under it and move on.

Hope she wore a mask
