Its very simple. If you are a young player given a chance then you have to take your chance. If you don't then you cant expect to play regularly. He didn't do anything last week.

Top players take their chances and look natural at this level. Its a long time since we've had someone like that. Probably Ross Barkley in all honesty.

So a young lad comes on as a sub and is expected to light up the game or be frozen out, but a high paid "first team player" who has been gash consistently gets to start time and again? Surely it should be the opposite - we know plenty of our current lot aren't up to it, Gordon needs time to learn in the first team as he could actually turn into a very good player.

Sigurdsson shouldn't be playing either but that's how football works. Its about taking opportunities.

He deserves another one soon but he has to take it. He cant keep coming on looking neat and tidy without offering any goal threat.

We have far too many ineffective technical players who only play football in the middle third.

Yes I'm talking about Premier league. He needs to carry a goal threat and I'm not sure he does... yet.

Neither do Bernard or Iwobi. Thats why they don't start.
Gordon in his whopping one premier league game... from the bench... when we had 10 men... didn’t create much... you don’t say...

I think that’s an unreasonable standard to hold him to to say that he doesn’t create much in the premier league.

When was he given his chance might I ask?

He should've started today, simple as that. Today was THE opportunity.

Feel sorry for him.

And last week. I feel like if he'd got decent game time (and obviously made contributions) in the last two, then he can go into the United game with a lot more confidence, before Richarlison comes back in after the break.

Now, it feels a bit more risky to give him a go next week. And that means Iwobi or Bernard who don't make the same runs Gordon might.

Right, I'm not really sure that counts as a fair chance that he blew then does it? coming off the bench while we're losing and down to 10 men.

Not really no, but top players find a way to impact matches. He's been unlucky not to find the net so far, but he has to score goals if he's to be adequate back up to someone like Richarlison.
