Was watching those clips of the u23 game and simms first goal. Has anyone EVER seen gylfi beating players and having a go, a mazy run at the edge of the box that led to the first goal? I don't know who the player was, but in that one short clip he did something I've never seen gylfi doing in his entire playing career.
Secondly, has anyone EVER seen gylfi making a fast break and setting up a goal like Gordon did on the second goal? ..... Me neither.
Makes you wonder what the coaches are watching at finch farm. I know they were brief clips but it doesn't take a brain surgeon to work out gylfi is a ridiculously poor player and that players in our u23 set up should be ahead of him in the pecking order. We need to pay off his contract and get him out of the club. Any club would be insane buying him.

Why would I be admitting Ancelotti is wrong to not play Anthony Gordon?
As I said, none of us know whether the lad is any good, or another Kieran Dowell.
Put the football manager game down.
Maybe go and look at some of your many posts in the academy threads, and maybe one of your many in the Kieran Dowell thread and maybe you'll have a lightbulb moment. The academy is a world away from the premier league - so when you're talking up Fraser Hornby a year ago - go and check were he is now.

Anthony Gordon is also, 19.
You, nor I have a clue whether he's good enough to play at the highest level.
Carlo Ancelotti, who sees him almost every day and is one of the most successful managers in world football, having won 20 trophies including league titles in four different countries and the Champions League three times - probably has a good grasp on where he is at.
That doesn't make Ancelotti immune from criticism, and it doesn't invalidate any opinion against his - but personally I'll go with Ancelotti.
Take the sentiment out of it, and let's keep it to merit;

He would have lost the ball on the miscontrol on the edge of the box in the prem. I do want to see more of him but if Carlo is seeing something he doesn’t like then fair enough. He played him lots last season so something has changed.

Gordon's competition, IMO, is on the wing - Richarlison, Iwobi, Bernard etc.

Sigurdsson should be hooked every game, like playing 10 v 12. His set pieces are that bad the opposition has more chance of scoring on the break than we do.
Of course he's bad but comparing him to Dowell is just daft.
