Last season and over the summer it was very different to how he is viewed now. The wild thing is nothing has changed. He is the exact same player still.
Confidence, that’s what’s changed.

People sneering at him will look silly when he moves. When he gets his confidence back he will be one hell of a player again.
Clubs aren’t after him for his looks, they want him for a reason.

He should never ever have been thrust into being our main creative hope.

He did have his head turned in the summer.

He would probably have signed a new deal but Everton have put all of that on hold.

We need money. He's not that good (yet). He could be very good, but right now he isn't and what he offers on the pitch isn't worth it to a club in our financial situation tbh.

It has to be done, and done quickly. Get the money in and give the new manager and DoF some scope to improve the squad.

Correct, fully agree.

I guess we’ll see. He was never even close to being what id describe as ‘one hell of a player’ and Ive never seen anything to make me believe hes capable of becoming one. Fair play to him if he does, I dont have ill will towards Ant at all - just dont think hes very good.

Unfortunately Everton turned him until what he is now. They told him he'd made it as our new superstar, so when he turned up for pre-season training with his picnic blanket trousers and updated highlighted locks, he thought he owned the place and was the second coming of Cristiano Ronaldo.

In fact, even Rooney wasn't as hyped as Gordon, although I think we must add there wasn't social media back then.

Anything north of £25m cash would be amazing business. If we could rob Newcastle of £35m or more it would probably be the best business we've ever done.

Geordie in Peace,
Sad reading these comments especially after seeing how the lad was lauded by the majority of Everton Fans not that long ago. TBH, he wouldn't be the first name on a Newcastle fans Wishlist, he isn't the finished article but even the bitterest Evertonian must admit there is potential there waiting to be unlocked by a decent coach.....We have one of those in Eddie Howe. Anyway good luck for the rest of the season and i personally hope you can pull out of the [Poor language removed] show you are all having to endure

Yeah he’s absolute dog muck unfortunately mate.

There’s definitely player there of some sort.

I guess how good we will have to wait and see. His decision making and his finishing are both atrocious though for me, but that could be a confidence thing.

Agreed! 35million(or more) in pure profit is exactly what we need right now. If we can sell him for that much, we cant call it anything but amazing business and a success from a developmental point of view. He might not have reached the quality we all wished he could, but the money will help us improve the team a lot more than Ant himself does.

Doesn't matter what we do.

We sell him we'll panic buy some [Poor language removed] from the Dutch league who has scored a dozen goals in 3 years.
