We will not get anywhere near what we want/need for Gordon. £30m top, we might get some add ons but no more. But I still think inlight of his apparent attitude and our current position he should be sold

Im sure the lad will come good in a decent team that doesn’t need to rely on him 100%. We don’t have the players or time to wait for that. The money will probably be wasted on some washed up striker and we’ll be back treading water.

Some fans were acting like he was the second coming of Rooney in the summer. He's a quick lad with a trick in him but that's it right now. He worked hard last season and had a few stand out performances but it's not like the other players were setting a high bar.
I'm not a stats man, I trust my eyes and I've seen nothing from him that suggests he'll be any more than an ok premier league player.
If Newcastle want him, take the money.

He's been in the first team for a total of one year and in that time he's been good (mostly last season) and poor (mostly this season). Still 21 and the likes of Newcastle, Chelsea and Spurs all want him. Even allowing for his poor form this season and the financial mess we are in, we'll probably still get £30m or more for him - does that not suggest to anyone that writing him off might be a tad daft? Anyway, he's going and we need the money so there's no debate to be had, but I hope there's no rewriting of history from people on here if/when he comes good.

Don’t think he will achieve more than Barkley at Chelsea.

Same as what I said in the summer. He could go on to be a top player but he isn't a top player right now. Situation we are in is dire, we can afford to overinvest in youth at the moment, we need experienced proven players who can win us some games. He comes across as a bit of a tit, heads elsewhere, performances have been largely gash since Chelsea came in for him. Get rid. But we HAVE to spend the money well

You're entitled to your opinion mate, but the body of evidence on Barkley was much bigger than what we have seen from Gordon. Pointless debate as nobody has a crystal ball like

The question is he good or not isn’t the issue. The issue is the lad doesn’t want to be here and wants to leave. Didn’t come on against West Ham. And when he came on against Southampton, that was one of the most disgusting display I’ve seen in a while, he wasn’t bothered, walking round, then gives a foul away which leads to the goal. He doesn’t want to know. Yeah he may become great and be worth 60-70 mil in a few seasons. Yeh big difference from last season to this is night a day. All the effort and desire has gone, ever since Chelsea wanted him his head has been turned.
