Anthony Gordon

I never saw a lazy player. Thought the fee was decent for a player that was only going to lose value the longer he stayed but dunno why he has this ‘rat’ rep.
Think he’s daft and young but the hate towards him is weird.
Me neither, he was hard running 20 year old lad playing without a striker for a very stupid manager and clearly being affected by a toxic fanbase groaning his every touch. Go back through his thread and you will see good performances called average, average performances called terrible and all kinds of personal insults. Agendas were formed against him and sadly there is no going back for some people, the Onana thread is currently just as depressing and equally misguided.

Fully agree. Always falling down and then wasting the ball.
He hasn't really become a better player at Newcastle. He just has more room to run with the ball than he did with us and that is making him seem better. His end product really isn't any different and the goal he got first half was a trifle lucky as it went through the keepers legs. It has also helped that TAA is having an awful game. Should have got red early in the game and then caused VVD to get removed.

Yeah, he's not tracking and defending in a terrible side (us) but playing as an attacker in a very good side.

Which is also why Joe Willock, Jacob Murphy, Almiron, and Sean Longstaff look half decent

Have to say that’s not how I saw it. Also Kenwright would sell his own mother if the fee was right so don’t particularly believe that narrative,

Reported in The Athletic. Kenwright was at dinner with Levy over the Richarlison deal. They enquired about Gordon too but he didn't want to sell both in the summer. Chelsea kept pushing for it as they knew the player wanted to go.

Lovey Bill.

He never downed tools or wanted out until we turned in him
He carried this team for a few months at 21 and still hit dogs abuse every time he made an error

He’s u21 World Cup player of the tournament and starting weekly gif the worlds richest club.

If we’d been a looked more patient he’d still be here abd tearing it up for us instead of dobbin yesterday

He won young player of the year then wanted to leave when Chelsea were interested.

Nothing to do with the fans forcing him out.

I think that’s unfair. I’d have left if I was him. Why would he want any part of it?

We'll that's what he did and wanted out in the summer before things turned "nasty".

It was never a case of "January I'm going" was always "I'm going regardless"

In between the summer and January he didn't help the cause.

Hmm I heard different and it wasn’t until
Jan that he was really wanting to move.

It’s not about forcing out, it’s about making him (and Barkley) not enjoy playing for their club. Osman was another, jags even. Recently Gomes, Keane, Onana, Pickford, etc, scared to get ghetto bell in case of error. It literally helps the opponents
