In the four seasons previous he played 29, 29, 34, and 25 games respectively, which is more than any squad player centre half should expect to play. Ridiculous to call him a crock because he's had two poor seasons with injury.

Yep. The word crock gets thrown around far too easily. Look at Gibbo, tears his ACL and to some it's like it's just the same old injury problems. A player is a crock when they constantly struggle with the same problem. See Rodwell, Jack, and his hamstrings.

I reckon he will be on 25k + wages.

I'm thinking this on the basis he was available on a Bosman and a few clubs in Europe were apparently interested, he could be on more.

Phil Neville and Heitinga were our 2nd and 3rd top earners behind Fellaini last year.

Sense means nothing here.
Heitinga would have got his wages being an international and moving from a champs league team to one that wasn't. Neville was captain and therefore earned payrises that came with that.

the one that sticks out is why we continued paying Van De Meyde all those years despite never intending to actually play him by the second half of his contract?

2 consecutive seasons post his 30th birthday, it hardly bodes well does it?

Anyway, tell me which of our peers sides he'd get in?

Probably just couldn't shift him to anyone else who'd be willing to pay his wages. Might as well have him there instead of paying his contract up.

He's been tragic in every game he has played in and in my opinion, he is the reason we did not achieve champions league qualification.

We need rid of him next season! all agree?

First off, you're chatting absolute [Poor language removed]. He's had like two bad games lad, so wind yourself in.

And no, we don't 'all agree', he's had a different partner in nearly every game he's played. Get a grip. Decent squad player.

Yeah two bad games, he has only played two games!! Gifted them the derby and scored a blinder in his own net on the south coast which if you can't remember, pretty much guaranteed us no CL. We need a better standard of player than him so you get a grip and stop praising anyone who can kick a ball lad!

Our CL hopes went when Palace beat us, Alcaraz did not play then, therefore your argument that Alcaraz has cost us a place in the CL is complete nonsense

AS much as I don't rate the guy I wouldn't put us not getting CL all on his shoulders he only played a few games, granted not the best but we dropped plenty of points with him not in the side as well.
