Gent I went with reckons its risks of inciting crowd trouble, maybe if it was something to taunt the home fans fair enough. But it wasn't to their fans, it was to ours! And it didn't say "great pyros lads" or "£10 if you can get the tit with the drum with a 2p coin!" it said happy birthday.

They should read the message before booking anyone IMO
Well after Balotelli's "Why Always Me?" undershirt it all started getting a bit mental and suddenly the poor kit man was getting over-worked ironing stupid messages on shirts for every Jack and Tom on the team. Everyone was pulling them out. I think the Paddy Power undies had a lot to do with it because it was essentially unofficial advertising for them and the Premier League was not having that.

Also.... I bloody hate drums at the match and was loving Snods and Sharpy ragging the West Brom fans for it in the EFC commentary. Jarg European meffs.

....amazing that he appears to be winning fans over. Not being cynical, it will be interesting if his revival results in a new contract offer and if so will he want to sign or move on a Bosman. Suspect much will depend on what's offered by way of salary and length of deal. I dare say this will be discussed sooner rather than later.

I thought the being booked for lifting up your shirt was about protecting the investment of the shirt sponsor. A goal celebration is when the camera has zoomed right in on the player and the shirt sponsor gets the most exposure.

As long as he stays injury free he is certainly worth a contract extension.
His goals against Watford and WBA alone have given us three extra points and goals apart he certainly had a very positive impact when he came on the field last Monday.

It's about deterring people from delaying the restart of the game, I've always thought.

Or maybe it's a nudity/watershed thing - maybe Andy Reid would get a red for whipping his shirt off.

this season i think Kone is proving a lot of people wrong. I backed the fella for being a good signing who had unforseen concequences but he is even suprising me considering thought he could be finished.

Twice he has made an impact off the bench and scored vital goals and been involved on the pitch.

Againat chelsea he was poor going forward but at the back (which was probably the managers thinking) he was winning every defensive header when back helping, which helped the team a great deal.

so altogether this season he is looking a very useful part of the squad, and when other 'back ups' are coming on and scoring hat tricks or deputising at full back well enough despite lack of experience then it is making our squad look stronger and stroner each week. Imagine if right now for the derby we strenghend by adding a fit (and back to his prime) piennar, Tom cleverley, Osman, Stones, Besic to name a few. They might not be top stars all of them but they can do a job for the team which is all we are asking of Kone for example!

He won't get an offer from a bigger club than us, so he'd be mad to turn us down. Can see him getting 10 goals and getting a 2 year contract in the spring.

Always thought it was on the grounds of "incitement" myself. Hard to distinguish between a provocative message and a harmless one (e.g. Happy birthday) so best off banning all messages.
