I can't help wondering if there are promises made to some players that they play most games if fit, if so that would be so wrong. The likes of Klassen hasn't had a sniff of a game when Snides gets most games, imo the likes of him,Williams should be gone in the summer. There are massive problems at the back, but I don't think they are all bad players, perhaps we need better defensive coaches, we should be working with a group consisting of Keane,Mangala,Holgate (why isn't he playing?) Mori (when back) Kenny,Coleman Baines and Garbutt (He does needs to be tried) with that lot I'm sure a decent defence could be found, Williams has turned so bad and Jags time is probably up here to. But defence a side the biggest problem all season is playing Gueye and Snides (LISTEN SAM IT HASNT EVER WORKED). It's as if our managers don't want the job it pathetic.

I saw the suicide note aka Fat Sam's team election and knew that there was no chance.

As other posters have noted you cannot surrender the midfield to Arsenal. Playing Morgan guarantees that you get no go-forward play. Pack the midfield and park the bus by all means but that meant keeping a competitive midfield with lots of bodies. But no Sam packs the defense..

He invents a new defensive line-up with two poorish wing-backs and a rusty Managala and a limited Williams!!

No guile up-front. Play Gilfi or Rooney but play one of them please. Why spend loadsa money on Cenk and then don't play him but play Bolasie who is months away from match fitness!!

I think the team knew that it was a suicide mission and played accordingly with a lack of conviction and a lack of energy.

Sam is not doing his chances of getting the job full-time any good with weird team selections that no-one understands and leaves big money signings on the bench.

The worst thing about the side was playing Koeman midfield again Gueye and Snides together it never worked and never will, apart from that the defence had one players who had been here days, playing along side 2 players that have not really been regulars lately, why wasn't Holgate in there? Kenny or Martina aren't wing backs, why wasn't Garbutt on the left at least balance would have been better or even Mangala at LB. So many things wrong at Everton and no manager can seem to sort them, some of the issues are so simple to sort. What harm could it have done yesterday playing Garbutt and Davies from the start?.

....50-1 when I looked with SkyBet last night. It was 80-1 after the Leicester game.

I mentioned over in the World Football forum that we're only eleven points off rock bottom (who'll pick up points) and seven from eighteenth.

We really do need to get a sequence of results from our fixtures in the coming months as we face the likes Watford, Palace, Brighton and Stoke.

If games go in our favour then we should be guaranteeing safety, but if on the other hand they don't then it could be a worrying April and May.

Personally, I do still think we'll be fine; my point, is that the Leicester victory has flattered us as it's still incredibly close down at the bottom.

And with regards to yesterday, I totally agree that his scatter gun approach was almost a submission that we were going to lose the game.

Saw the team yesterday morning..and we decided to give our tickets away and not go...what a great choice...went out for drinkeez instead(may keep on doing this for other aways until this dinosaur and his dinosaurettes are sacked off) Saved about a ton and a half not going and still had change in pocket after sesh...

I saw some crap in the 90's but even then I don't remember getting beat so often by 3, 4 or 5 goals as keeps happening this season. Big job for a new manager and director of football to sort out in the summer

Totally abject performance and team selection. I got the impression this game was an expected loss which is why he rested so many players. Until the manager is sacked and we bring someone in we can all get behind this will keep happening. Our players arnt totally crap, under a decent forward thinking manager the majority of them would perform much better.

Did anybody really think we'd go to Arsenal and win? Not very many (if any) I suspect. Thats what we've become. Setting up to keep it tight and conceding 4 goals in the first half anyway! Shambolic.
Mentality for these type of games has to change, but its sound easier than it actually is. Players and Managers come and go but the result and performance remains.

Arsenal are top class. They'd have run through any side in that first half.
We don't play them every week .

Swansea just beat them 3-1. They're not top class.

Absolutely agree. I can't understand how these guys keep playing. We've got other players in the squad who haven't featured at all, we've not given the likes of klaasen and Sandro a fair crack but there are players in our squad who seem to get an unlimited amount of chances. The performances have been disgraceful from our senior players this season, they don't lead, they don't set any kind of example to the new players and young lads we have but they still get picked. It's just bad. I would much rather we give our new players and young lads a run in the team than picking players like Williams, jags, schneiderlin who either can't do it anymore or aren't interested in doing it for us.
