What was great about his performance though?

Did he put in any good crosses? Create any chances? Make any outstanding interceptions or tackles?

I don't recall many, if any really.

I'm not trying to criticse the guy, thought he was poor but it's no big deal.

But haven't a clue what he done to be MOTM other than possibly people not noticing his regular poor control and that he done well getting into good attacking positions. And that they thought everyone else was worse.

Im sorry, but thats not wholly true. He's been very solid at the back but he is lacking pretty significantly at going forward. Because he's ACTUALLY a CB. And there within lies the crux. Martinez's whole system is predicated on having his fullbacks bomb on and his TWO DM's try to help them out if they lose possession, so if one of the FB's are pretty lackluster at bombing on, why does he not change his system?

Before the post match fume (some of which is deserved) I urge people to be real.

We've had a right crappy list of first ten games. And we've only lost 3.

Please wait until we're at least half way through the season. Played everyone once before making any rash judgements.

Personally, I think we'll be fine. And be around the 6th-8th place area.

If you can't see how much better than last season we are I really worry about you.
